Hats off to apprentice tycoon
So far I have only ever sold on ebay and the problem I have found is that books do not sell very well on ebay. Having read your posting I will now go off and investigate selling on Amazon.
Maybe I'll leave it till the morning though, I think it's bed timezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzDon't worry - Be Happy :dance:0 -

However, I do have an envelope that I could reuse (got hubby a book from the US) but it has Alibris printed all over it.
Will I be doing anything wrong by recycling it for my own sale? I suppose it's a bit misleading, but then again, I'm doing my bit for the environment???
Annoying to have to eat into my profits by buying an envelope from the PO - no cheap envelopes in my village and need to get it posted in the morning.
I don't think that the Alibris envelope would be a bad idea, as you say it's just recycling. When I've had a big book to pack I've wrapped it in bubblewrap and used the really thick bin liners - the one important thing with this is to make sure that the PO staff put the postage stamp label firmly in place.
I had one of these where the book arrived with no stamp label and the customer had to pay to recieve it so I assume that the label didn't stick to the shiny bag very well and peeled off onto another parcel in the sack. Now I put a large sticky label where the post label will go to give it a better base to stick to, I tape this sticker and the address stickers with sellotape as well0 -
Sold a couple of books yesterday. When the confirmation email came through it had no title of the book I had sold - Just sold 123 - the first one I thought was an error, then when it happened a second time I wondered if anyone else had this happen over the weekend?
I had to go in to my account to check what they had bought.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

larmy16,
There is another thread running on this subject the title is:
Amazon Pending Order - I don't have that title.
I haven't merged the threads as I think this Amazon one is already quite long enough. However, you might find your answer on there.

Thanks larmy 16 for posting this as it happened to me too. Post item 123 confused me no end and then when it happened again I thought it was for the same item but it wasn't. Hard work for a beginner on computers to work out what book it was. How do you email or contact Amazon?0

Same here. Thought it was a clever spoof for a minute until I logged in via amazon homepage, rather than clicking on the link, to check!
By the way, since I've been selling on amazon marketplace, I've had my first ever couple of spoof amazon emails, so beware everyone.0 -
I've sold 2 other books today and the emails came through with the proper titles so it looks like it's been fixed0

Can you give us an idea of the nature of the emails? I am a bit naive about this kind of thing?Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Indeed I can. I had 2 very similar ones from service@amazon.com entitled Urgent Fraud Protection Group Notice.

I found an email address on the amazon website to forward it to, but never heard back from them.
If you get an email you're not sure about, I always find putting the email subject title into google to see what comes up quite helpful.0 -
I got a 123 sale today so not totally fixed!0
