No probs. I find the weekends are usually when I sell most stuff so it's really annoying to get the pending thing just before. You end up having to wait 3 days to relist on Monday

Not sure if it's relevant, but I thought weekends would be busy. Although I'm a novice, the buyers have all bought mid-week  The 'pending' I had was just a made up address I think. A bit like xcysi@aol

That's not a link btw :D
• I am ADDICTED to putting them on but haven't sold anything yet...poo!! Am champing at the bit to go out and buy more...imagine what I'll be like when I have sold some!!!

As to the charity shop thing, I've been buying stuff to resell on ebay for a while and I always end up having ridiculous made up conversations about why I'm buying stuff too...eg. men's Levis jacket.."this is nice...ooh men these days don't buy their own clothes...my hubby is terrible..blah blah blah..."...will have to try the apprentice tycoon technique!!! :D

voodoozoe, don't worry, I sold some book pretty quickly and then nothing, for about 3 weeks! Nothing! Nada! It is a matter of being patient :D

Don't go out and buy loads of books if you haven't sold anything, try buying and listing a few books from a different genre?

I've mainly found edu books and self-help and ecletic subjects better sellers. Edu book might be difficult at the moment but should pick as the exam season comes around.
• I've listed a load of books - no bites yet. I also listed a DVD that went next day!

this is SO much better than ebay!
2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix

I started selling mid October and have sold approx 45 books and the odd CD and Video. I have really enjoyed it and found it quite addictive. However over the past 2 weeks the sales have definitely slowed down. Has this happened to anyone else? I originally sold my own books but have been buying some from jumble sales and charity shops. I am now getting a bit wary of buying anymore as the sales have dwindled. Also is anyone from Devon as I am?

I've been registered as a seller on Amazon for about three weeks. I sold 5 books in the first week and nothing since.

Still, I was only selling things from my own shelves so it was a bit of a wrench really when I did have to post one out, at least I can say I did try to declutter and we can all ignore the fact that I bought as many books as I sold....(walks off whistling)

It was fun though I am still quite addicted to looking at some of the prices that people have up for their books. There are a few US sellers who have books listed the same as mine where there is maybe 5 or 6 of us with prices around say the £6 mark but where the US seller has it up for £90. I've come across loads like that, I wonder what their cunning plan is?

• I wouldn't worry - just sit tight, they always sell when you least expect it.

I'd check back to see if anyone has undercut your prices though, you could stick with your price and wait for the cheaper one to sell, then yours will be the cheapest or undercut them a little. Sometimes this can get silly because the price will just get lower and lower and you both lose out.
• I guess people buy secondhand books etc. for THEMSELVES and so at this time of year are busy spending money on new stuff for prezzies for others.

I suppose we need to remember the mantra..."it costs us nowt to put 'em on!!!" and be patient.

I'm still excited anyway!!! :D
