I'd say that if they haven't sorted out their payment within a few hours I'd guess that the sale probably isn't going to proceed

I am finding on Amazon payments are taking upto 24 hours to go through. Had me quite worried for a while and was bombarding Amazon with e-mails but that looks about the maximum time (so far anyway!!).
  • I don't know if what I've just done is ethical or not - so I'll go and get my tin helmet and stand back.
This afternoon Martin posted threads on other boards about his New Money Diet book being on sale on Amazon now, pre-publication, and he's arranged for it to be half price, £3.99, for a limited time only.

I bought it straight away (along with other Christmas prezzies for the free p&p) and sold my old copy of the Money Diet on on Amazon 10 minutes ago to fund it. I expect the price of the old books to dive shortly .....

  • That's great,

I think that maybe I priced mine too low, I went for £2.99 which was the same price as another book that's still for sale, it sold 20 minutes after listing it and the buyer will have it in, say, 20 minutes from now with todays post (that might have clinched it) - but when something sells as quickly as that on either on ebay buy it now or amazon I end up wondering if perhaps I should have put a little extra on it? maybe that's greed talking!

When I listed there were 6 second hand ones on offer, there are now 8 but one name off the list has gone, this was well over £3.00 so they did well with it.

Can anyone tell me how to access the buyer waiting list on Amazon. I am a pro-merchant seller but keep getting a message telling me I do not have access. It is very frustrating.
  • yes, me too - I emailed them ages ago but didn't get a reply

Well, he answered my email to say he still wanted it and there was a problem with Barclaycard. But then emailed me again a few hours later to say he'd changed his mind and I could relist

With the other one I had, I left it 3 days and relisted. Amazon never emailed me again after the first contact to say the payment was pending, so don't wait to hear from them. That's why I suggest contacting the mystery buyer to find out if they still want it - saves you waiting to relist. I'd say that if they haven't sorted out their payment within a few hours I'd guess that the sale probably isn't going to proceed

Did you find their email address? I recall it was a bit tucked away but I found it in the end. If you want me to be more specific about where to find it, let me know.

Hi purplepatch and thanks for the reply.

I relisted it just before the 72 hours was up, but I've no idea who wanted it, if they ever did. So I've no idea who the mystery 'buyer' was

All I know is it's showing in the open list and the closed list :), so I'll see if it sells and what I'm charged. I'll let you know :)

    I did too :D

Then I remembered I'd paid full price for it and changed my mind. I'd ordered the new one before the tips went out, so I'll have to wait for the new one, but as for selling it at £2 (ish)? No way lol. I'd rather give it to a family member that's always borrowing money ;)

I listed a book earlier that Amazon was charging £1.99 just to source it.

Would ayone have asked for the asking price? Less? More? What does it mean anyway? ;)
