MY local charity shop sells paperbacks for 20p and hardbacks for 50p cant get much cheaper than that.

I do have another charity shop I visit and they are pretty reasonable as well.

This is something I've yet to try, pretend your texting a mate (think busy, busy, busy) whilst looking at the books but instead type the names or barcodes! And if they ask what you're doing, tell them your texting names of books your friend might like.

You could use the voice capabilities of the phone, you may look wierd doing that :)

Or get one of those wap phones that connect to the internet and look it up while you're there ;)

I'm going to take a little note book with me next time I go and make a note of anything possibly of interest once I get out of the shop (or even in the shop if I feel brave!).

Yesterday I saw a huge history of Europe hardback selling for a pound. Didn't buy it as thought the postage would be too much, but when I got home found it was listing at £25-40. So of course I went back for it later!

I might try nads idea with the text thing :D

But seriously, I just went to list a book for £1.00, checked whether there were many more, and there's only one listed, for £25. The book only cost £2 odd new

I'm not sure my conscience would let me list it for much more than £3.00 so I'm wondering what to do with it lol.
  • Sofa -I'd get the best price you can for the book, try £22 and see how it goes, if you still feel a bit guilty when you get the money through you can always put some of it in the the next charity box you see or go back to the shop and buy Christmas cards and paper with your 'conscience' money.

Don't worry about the buyer, if he was willing to pay over £20.00 for a book he must really want it and it doesn't matter how you came by it, he will just be pleased that you offered it up for sale

Thanks :) I bought it myself for slightly over the odds on eBay a few months ago and wasn't over the moon when I saw the price :D. I might undercut the other seller and see how much they undercut me. Maybe we'll find a happy medium? ;)
