selling books on Amazon - tips for more profit

thanks to this wonderful informative thread I've just got myself a bargain (assuming it arrives!). I checked out Amazon and decided to look for a CD I wanted, this CD is deleted and goes for about £15-£20 on ebay including post and packing. I just got it from a US seller for $11 dollars including postage. I am well chuffed.
There are a lot of other deleted CDs on there as well that I want, so will wait to make sure the first one arrives OK and then buy some more.
I can't wait for it to arrive now, that's part of my Christmas shopping done already.

That's great! there have been more posts that are 'I've sold something' rather than 'I've bought something' so it's a nice balance. I've bought a few 2nd hand books from the USA on Amazon and never had a problem with them not arriving, you should be fine.....!0

Hi
Just overcome the problem of my name appearing everytime I go to Amazon, but is it a good idea to use a work address as an Invoice address?
TIA0 -
I can't see that it really matters, you don't get anything actually posted to you from Amazon - unless you've ordered something that is! - you will need to put a return address on your book parcels so that could be which you want it to be, either home of work, wherever you find convenient0

Thanks apprentice tycoon .... if it's only for returns, I'll make it the work address seeing as I put my OH's name as the seller
I'll plod on with the rest of it. I'm only listing one book for now (that's popular too, 1p and a few at that), but it's all good practice.
(I can see how my next few days will be spent;))0 -

It's amazing how easy it is, isn't it?! I managed put about 15 books up in 15 minutes... imagine doing that on eBay!
BTW, I've now sold 3 of those books in less than 5 days!
Also I'm definately going to buy my books from MarketPlace now, it is just so much cheaper especially when it's a 1p item!0 -
Advice please??
I've got a live double CD of a rather cheesy artist in my collection, if I've listened to it more than a couple of times I'd be surprised. Totally perfect nick.
When I put the number in it comes up as a deleted title, none used for sale and one buyer waiting.
The price label tells me I paid £10.99 for it about ten years ago I'd guess.
A search on google comes up with very little info, but suffice to say that there don't seem to be any for sale anywhere.
How much do I list it at??
Any advice gratefully received!0 -
there are 2 ways to do this -
Firstly you can ask a pro-merchant seller on here to find out what there is listed on the 'buyer waiting list' for this CD (I'm a pro-merchant but for some stupid reason I can't log on to that page so I can't help there)
or
You have nothing to lose by going for a high price of say, £20.00 and if it doesn't sell within a few days drop it by a pound every few days till this waiting buyer gets notified that it meets their criteria (there is always the possiblilty that they have found it elswhere but forgotten to take it off the list of wants) but maybe someone else would want it too.0 -

Thanks for the advice AT.
If any pro-merchant seller wouldn't mind looking it up for me, I'd be very grateful..... pretty please... Just say the word and I'll pm you the details.0 -
I would also be very grateful for this information too. I currently don't sell enough books to justify the monthly charge unfortunately.
I have had some free sample packaging from novia
I was really impressed by the solution too, just send them an email requesting samples.0
