WOW I just had a squiz at amazon at a book that was on my shelf (I picked up a carrier bag for £1 at a market) on Amazon the lowest is £27.50 and the highest is £47!!! - these conditions are "acceptable" mine hasn't been read!!! I am amazed!!
    :p:p Angel :p:p
  • Is it a self help book, or a professional book? These do seem to be the ones that go well. I've sold everything from Callenetics to Calligraphy (yes, literally) this week. Funny old game!

Yes! I've spent the last 90 mins reading this whole thread!

After reading 364 posts I am certainly going to try this. Although Uni ahs already started I will lsit some of my uni books... there are always drunk students who haven't looked at their reading list yet!

    :T

Edit: I kept seeing Amazon Forum mention on here where there was a lot of slagging off going, could someone give me the link, can't find it on Amazon.
  • You have to be a seller and logged in to access this - on the seller account page there is 'seller discussion boards' from there is 'seller connection'.
I have just had a look to see if anyone has spotted that the thread has been mentioned this week on the MSE tips but it seems to have been overlooked.

If you want to have a look at what was discussed at the time the easiest way is to go into to ...discussion board...seller connection...search 'advanced search' (that's in a line with other options)...then 'containing the words' - and key in 'apprentice tycoon' click '3 months ago'. You should get the result, it starts with 'it seems crazy and naive to me'....

edit - I have just re-read it and it was interesting to see that they were amazed that our thread had had 2500 views, they also said that our thread will 'die a natural death' (21st july) errrr......no, not yet

My apologies if this has been asked before. I did read the entire thread a week or so ago which took some time and I can't remember seeing too much about this.

I've a couple of quite rare items that are deleted and therefore I'm trying my luck a bit pricewise. What is the general consensus about offering to overseas? So far I've only offered to the UK, but now I'm beginning to wonder if I should change this to offering overseas too - especially for the rarer items. I see the postage allowance goes up if you get an overseas buyer and I looked on royal mail website and the allowance appears to cover the cost of airmail. Are there any pitfalls to posting overseas that I'm overlooking? (I know that surface mail overseas isn't worth doing as it takes an eternity)
  • If they are over £30.00 in value they won't be covered of they get damaged or lost. You can send them by either Airsure or International Signed For (depends on the destination which is used) - these are both Royal Mail services and you can read the details on the website. For example a parcel to the USA can be covered to £500.00 for the normal cost of the airmail + £4.30 so you will need to add in that extra £4.30 into your figures.

Just tos ay I placed about 15 books online last night about 2pm, mainly textbooks and revision books.
No buys yet but cant wait to see what happens especiall since I'm the lowest for 6 of them. If I sell them at their current price I will make £150 for books I don't even use!
