selling books on Amazon - tips for more profit

I still think that the cheapest books are to be found at boot sales, particularly as they are nearly all done for the year and the sellers could be desparate to off-load.
I picked up 'London - the autobiography' the other week, it was an 8 cassette audio book, still sealed. I paid £4.00 for it. We have it as a book so didn't really need it and couldn't think who to give it to for Christmas so I sold it for £31.00 - but then there's amazon fees, postage and I get taxed on my Amazon earnings etc but still a good buy and great sale0 -
Wooohoo, I'm on my way, 3 books and £47 up! For books that have just sat in the filing cabinet at work.
1 has come back saying the payment hasn't been confirmed, give it 72 hours. Has anyone had this before?0 -
Yes, there may be a problem with the buyers credit card, 9 times out of 10 the book stays un-paid but it's worth checking your transaction history later on because I had the odd late payment but no email. If the book stays unpaid you will need to re-list it, they don't do it for you.0

Hi
Sold one of my DD's books. Sea of tranquilty and got £27.00 for it  Not in print anymore and has gone to a school so very happy. Have given DD a cheque to pay into her savings.
Thanks so much A-T. I have sold 3 now totalling over £50 in 4 weeks :T

Tht's a great price for one book, I'm not surprised you're pleased - presumably the buyer is equally pleased to have found it so winners all round!0

It was actually 3 books, but still excellent. They are technical books that don't mean a thing to me, but we get sent them to review at the magazine I work for. Limited audience, but they seem to look on Amazon! Really short of cash at the moment (loads to shell out on trips now kids are back at schools!) So this was such a welcome thread. Keep posting!0
