ipconfig??? firewall?
have you tried putting in your wireless key again?
wired, just plug an ethernet cable between laptop and routerEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
ive tried putting the ip address in manual but its not having any of it. Ive had the modem and the router unplugged to reset it as virgin media ip addresses are automatic.
Ive turned the firewall off to see if that was the problem so its off at the moment.0 -
If you want to restore the computer to as it was when new, Turn on the computer and press F2 to enter the bios, in the main menu is the option D2D Recovery which you should set to Enabled, then press F10 to save the change and exit BIOS, your computer should now restart and restore the factory setup. After the restore is complete change the D2D Recovery to disabled again.0

ipconfig?
does wired work?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
The reason you cant get on the internet is because your wireless adapter cannot pick up an IP address.
So the problem is your Wireless Adapter or your TCP/IP Stack is goosed.
If i was there i could fix it, but its difficult to explain over the net without seeing the machine.
You could try to retrieve the wireless driver and store it on a USB pen. Then uninstall the adapter and reboot and reinstall.
The problem is the wireless network adapter - it is not the router, it is not the modem, it is not virgin media and its not the cable modem.
Try getting a mate who is techy to look at it.
Its one of those issues that takes about 5 mins to fix in real time and over a few hours over the net.0 -
