I can be cooking dinner and have the urge for a coffee before i eat, and find that it does fill you before you eat, naturally coffee isn't the appropriate health drink but at least its something...

Thanks for that Supermum, I always suffer headaches mind you, i just found that they are more frequent and had a real bad one that left me almost good for nothing all day Saturday, my only day off to :(
  • Hi everyone, nice to see you were all busy while i was away.

In contrast I was not, did a lot of lying around and a bit too much eating and drinking (my January on the wagon went by the wayside although I did try to keep a limit on it, 2 glasses per night and no more). Anyhow heading for the gym in the morning for week 3 of my 5k running programme. Have to do 3 mins at a go which feels almost comically unreachable. But I might just surprise myself :) Gonna reward myself with a nice swim and sauna afterwards.

So maybe a chance for even a little weight loss this week if I stick to it 100% between now and Wed night.

OK off to think uplifting thoughts!

Don't worry tara - it fluctuates over the month and may not show on the scales... (thats what I tell myself anyway!!!)

Next week will be better :j... hopefully!!

    Good luck x
Oh Tara - never mind....could be 3 off next week?!! Maybe your hair has had a growth spurt - that might be 1lb's worth?! Im off to the gym tonight for my "induction". I think childbirth might have been less humiliating. Am feeling anxious, but am quite determined -

No. of swims so far - 5
No. of biscuits since new year - 3
No. of crisp packets since new year - 0.5 (ate a few from a pack last week and left the rest!)
No. of boxes of special K so far this year - 2
No. of visits to gym - first one tonight!

Thanks for your kind comments, I have tried to put it behind me and focus on the new week.

How did your gym induction go SuperMum2008?

I must try some of this hot water in the morning, my health nut aunt swears by it so there must be something to it,

Welcome back belfastgirl23! Glad you enjoyed yourself anyway. :) Do you have to do 3 minutes running and that's it, or 3 minutes, then a break, then another 3 minutes etc?

links to some good information, the tesco one is an online payment if you want but you can go so far before it asks you to pay, i think the boots one as lots of information...

Some extra information for those of you not in the know...

Went to the docs today (finally) as i'm allergic to exercise when i have a thick head, she suggested that before doing any, about an hour before planning on it drink a good whack of water, when exercising the water is drained from the brain and the digestive system to feed the working muscles, so its better to drink before exercising as well as during, something I wasn't aware of. As i'm not a big fan of bland water I have always dehydrated and its only recently after reading on that boots site that its important to treat it as your number one diet aid.

Hope it helps some of you out there..
  • Aw carp, I wasn't doing too bad this week (or so I thought) then I go and inhale a packet of rolo that happened to leap into my hand in the shop :o

I looove water so I am quite lucky!! I drink at least 3 litres per day. And my skin really shows the effects of dehydration (e.g. after a big night out or a lang haul flight), so what the doc says is spot on. :T:T

p.s. AB, put the Rolo incident behind you and move on xo

  • I'm also a big water drinker except if I think I won't find a loo too easily :) I know for sure I feel better if I drink plenty of water anyway, even if I'm not so focused on weight loss.

AB one packet of rolo won't make the difference :) if you've been sensible all week don't worry, it will still show through...

Managed my run this morning admittedly at a sort of a crawl (7.5k per hour on a very slight incline). The programme is now warm up, run 90 sec, walk 90 sec, run 3 mins, walk 3 mins, then repeat once more. So 2 lots of 90 secs and 2 lots of 3 mins surrounded by walking :) And I did it. In fact I made it to 3.5 mins on the second go :) I am hoping to try it outside sometime soon, my regular evening walking buddy being incapacitated at the minute. There is a great sense of achievement in doing a programme like this, now that I've got over caring about being c**p at it.

Had I just managed to avoid that post-lunch hot chocolate I could be very pleased with myself :)

I've never been great at high impact stuff, so running would be out, plus i've always been big busted and its always been something i'm very concious of not doing ever since i was told i'd give myself black eyes lol.

I'm starting off with 15 minute treadmill sessions daily, fitting in the wii fit when i can and hopefully the trademark sit ups and toning exercises, which i enjoyed doing yesterday even though the cat did come over to me and try and take a chunk out of my arm, well, i guess thats one way of losing weight lol.

Another would be having my long hair surgically removed next week for a shorter style can't wait!

So much for Argos delivering my treadmill between 12 and 2... grrr!! I bet if I hadn't have left work early they would have been here at 12 on the dot!!!

Going out for a girly night tonight :-) .... to a restaurant so I'm going to try hard to order something reasonably sensible..!!! And will drink a load of water before I go!!!
