Hi everyone
Have we put off thinking about this long enough? I'm back to work tomorrow so it's my fresh start. My scales died on me today - prob need a new battery - but last time I weighed I was at 11.13:eek:
I am notionally doing Slimmers World so my biggest pledge is to try to stick with their guidelines for January. Also no booze for January.
On the exercise side, I'm getting a new fitness programme done hopefully this week but my goal is to be able to run 5k within 6 weeks - I'm following a programme. I want to make it to the gym 3 times a week and to swim 3 times a week as well. and keep up the walking.
Oh and to buy a new battery for the scales
Anyone else joining in??
Sssh but I turn 40 in late June this year and I would LOVE to be a 'normal' weight and be fit. Which means losing 2st and 3lb. It's doable I think - just over 1lb a week.0 -

Hi Tara, OK well what I'm planning to do!
Cut out the booze for January
Try to stick to slimming world principles for January (failed this already but hey just getting back on the wagon - millionaires shortbread leapt into my hand today)
Cut back on the c**p, more fruit and veg and pulses,
Drink water (got lazy over Christmas)
Exercise.
I feel like I've got a head start on the last one, recently took up swimming and am on my second week of a programme to run 5kAlso getting a new gym training programme in a couple of weeks time (got the session booked).
All I have to do now is sort the eating out.
What conclusions did you reach??
PS would LOVE to lose half a stone in January - okay this is my target, 11.13 to 11.6
ANYONE ELSE WANT TO JOIN US???0 -
Can I join in too? Been yo-yoing since I was 18 - so I'm obviously GREAT at dieting!!! Hit the big 4-oh last summer and weight has just been creeping on, and christmas has topped it off!! Would be happy to loose a stone - as that is the weight I was on my wedding day and I don't seem to be able to get less than that!
Did you watch the big fat diet show last night on Ch4 - thought it was good and now I'm a bit more motivated... however every time I think "diet" my subconsious takes over and I head straight for the biccies!!
Going to try and not eat between meals, not eat the kids leftovers, only drink at weekends and actually use the Wii Fit... that I only used once so far... or maybe the Davina McCall workout DVD that I watched ONCE while I was making a chocolate cake... that really doesn't sound good does it....
Ok, feeling more motivated already!!!!0
