Hi there. You two sound like you're doing great, well done!
I haven't been tracking my points tbh, I just gave up a while ago as it is so hard to work it out! e.g. do I have to weigh each slice of bread to estimate its points? But I guess I can give it another go. If cooking, I should weigh things carefully and write down what has gone into a dish. Even estimating will probably make me eat less as it will shock me!
This week hasn't been great for me. Yesterday and today have been a bit better. BG23, I am the opposite of you, I snack all the time at work but usually don't eat as much at weekends! Where are you off to next weekend?
I have decided to nominate one day a week when I can eat whatever I want. This week, it will be Saturday (16th). On that day I can eat - and drink - anything, but on the other days I will be careful.
My big motivation is going on hols in 7 weeks , if I could lose 1lb a week that'd be half a stone and I would be happy about that.
My next WI is on Tuesday - it should be tomorrow but I am staying at a friend's tonight and she doesn't have scales.

oooh holiday - where are you going Tara? I'm off to London this weekend but it's just to visit DH where he's working so not particularly exciting - I've been over and back a fair bit since he's been there and to be honest apart from seeing him it's just routine by now. I have been thinking of trying to find something that might be interesting or exciting to do and also involve some exercise
I might even think about doing a run/walk although it does mean having to bring my trainers which is a bit of a pain with hand luggage only
On the walking front I did come across this lately
http://www.meetup.com/belfasthillstours-com/
Haven't tried it myself but it would certainly be pretty intensive. I do have a friend who uses curves and swears by it but I've got over the sweating in front of the opposite sex thing a long time ago myselfI think I would have really liked this when I was starting out with fitness though.
Not too bad a day today, treated myself to a synned hot chocolate at Clements (with skimmed milk, I did make some effort) and it was really yummy and worth it. Walked in and around town too so got some exercise, and everything else was pretty healthy.
Back to normal again tomorrow0 -
I love walking around London, it's just so huge and there are some gorgeous neighbourhoods!! Where is your OH based?
Hols are to Morocco, really looking forward to it.
Re Curves, I don't know why I thought of it but it looks like fun. I have no probs sweating in front of men either - have been a member of numerous gyms and also been running a lot so sweating in front of the whole street lol! I loooove running but can't atm (so frustrating) so I need to think of other ways to get my cardio exercise.
Thanks for the link also!
I've been ok today too, so far anyway LOL!!! I will not eat junk between now and going to bed (repeat 100 times).
Yum @ the hot choc! Are you doing SW then? How does it work?Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi all just checking back in at the end of another busy day - did a run and swim this morning and feeling tired now
although really enjoyed them at the time.
Tara - I've been sort of doing SW since august although doing it in the sense of going and getting weighed rather than following the eating planThere are some things I like about it - it's great veggie wise and encourages you to eat a lot of sensible foods - all the stuff you know is good for you is 'free' and there's no need to weigh etc. But the down side is that there are lots of arcane little rules - rice is 'free' except for the 2 minute rice which has syns
My hot chocolate cost me 8 syns where I had been thinking I could have the skimmed milk as a healthy extra
that sort of stuff. But as a principle it's working well for me, when I stick to the eating plan I def lose weight and don't feel starving all the time.
As for London it's pretty central (bloomsbury ish) so there is plenty to do but I'm also trying to be a bit MS - January and all  so don't want to hit Oxford Street. Thinking of getting it together to go to the V&A, haven't been for ages and if I go on the Friday it prob won't be too busy. I also got a free book in the paper that listed good walks, and three were in London so might try one of them to get a bit of exercise.
Anyhow hope you had a good day. What about all you other NI weight loss people, how are you getting on?
Oh and I think I've lost 2lb this weekhad a sneaky weigh this morning....just have to keep it up and not sabotage myself again!
How far are you running by the way Tara? I'm just moving to week 3 of a 5k programme so still run/walking...0 -
I think tonight will be weigh in night to see what weight (if any!) I have shifted in the past week
How's everyone else getting on?0 -
i think i may start this whole weight loss thing, im 5ft6 and 15 and a half stone, but i am quite a short stocky muscular build, i play rugby, probably the explanation for that, and have been able to get away with eating up to 4000 calories a day up until the snow hit, that meant rugby training was off, so i got lazy and the weight is the same, but muscle is disappearing and fat is rearing its ugly head!! ideally i want to loose half a stone before february, thats my short term goal, my long term goal isnt weight based, its confidence based, i want to be able to go swinning etc on holiday at the end of may without being extremely self conscious!!! so i gotta get at it!!!0

BG23, I haven't been running in months due to injury but I have run lots in the past, up to about 12-13 miles in one go at my fittest I reckon! Sigh. Them were the days. I have really got to get back into it though. I much prefer running in autumn and winter, the cooler air suits me. I hate running when it's too hot. So I guess now is the time!! I just need to get my fitness levels back, I feel so flabby and lazy and unfit, and the longer it goes on the worse it gets. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut...
AB, you should WI in the morning according to all the 'experts', cos you are more likely to get a true reading. Weight fluctuates so much more during the day apparently. HTH.
I have lost nothing this week, boo! Hoping for better news next week.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Welcome Drew
Well another reasonably good day for me, did ok on the exercise - gym this morning for my new upper body weights workout which is pretty tough, plus my new crosstrainer exercise which is definitely tough! And my non existent plank (a measly 10 seconds)Finally got back to the walking tonight - I have missed it so much and I really feel properly physically tired and ready to sleep now for the first night in a long time. Could it be possible that walking tires you out in a way that other exercise doesn't?
Ate pretty well today too though I didn't keep a log, must try and fill it in tomorrowAlso we had to order lunch in for tomorrow for a work seminar and I prevailed and suggested salads rather than big fattening sandwiches. WI at SW tomorrow helped keep me on the straight and narrow.
Anyway off to bed, gonna have an early morning swim tomorrow, hope my arms hold up after today
Hope you're all doing well, Arkonite how did WI go??0 -
Didn't weigh in tonight. Decided to wait until am as Tara suggested! Though my Dad did ask me today had I lost weight, so that's a plus!0
