Hi,
I can't stress enough to stop thinking about different diets. You need to embrace a healthy way of living and see this as as a lifestlye change.
There is not a cat's hell in chance you will drop a stone in a week - even if you did not eat one single thing all week, you'd drop dead before you'd see the end result, and it still probably wouldn't be a weight loss of 14 pounds.
Chin up girl, we've all been there, if you don't work, turn off the PC and start walking now. Just go for an hour's power walk, try it..........

It is so depressing that anyone still believes there is a quick fix to dieting.
You probably can lose a stone in a week if you don't eat etc. Whatever it is you're slimming for will be miserable for you because your energy is so low and your skin will be crap but hey as long as those thighs don't rub together...and of course it will all go back on in the following week.
I know I'm sounding grumpy and god knows I sympathise with wanting to be a bit slimmer but really I find it hard when otherwise intelligent women still believe in santa claus.
The dieting answer is such an obvious no brainer. Eat less, eat the right stuff, take exercise. If I could just find the answer to motivating yourself to do it I'd be a millionaire. And a couple of stone lighter.
OP better wearing foundation underwear and feeling good and having a good time. And then keeping up a healthy lifestyle....0 -

The missing ingredient in the yoghurt was sugar!!! You can be too trained into thinking in terms of fat and calories but it is the affect our food has on our blood sugar level which determines how the food is used. Keep a low Glycaemic load (balance the sugar), exercise and you will turn to burning fat rather than storing it, trust me. It probably involves eating more calories than you eat at present which may put you off but it shouldn't. The cereal diet will cause mood swings and blood sugar fluctuations and is not good for you, don't know how they've got away with advertising that one. If you start with a liver detox and move on to GL you will be in great shape mentally and will feel fitter and healthier.
As for exercise, if you detox you really can't overdo it but walking will help the process and is great for you. Get your ipod on and take a serious walk for a good 40 mins if you can. How can you not with this beautiful sunshine? The other thing I would say is to look at the issue of body image. There are some great books on the net. One I'd recommend, 'When Women Stop Hating Their Bodies', is a good read. It may help to examine the balance between wanting to look your best, be and stay healthy and loving yourself regardless. Not actually achieved that myself yet but baby steps...

Well, you're fed up and unhappy at the moment, so personally I'd go for the No Diet Diet, because it will make you think about everything except food. It will encourage you to try different things.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I have never had a weight problem BUT I have helped out a few people that have. The easiest diet to follow is the Zone because you are never hungry since you do not go without food for more that 4 or 5 hours. It is basically small portions of good food and not much white flour, potatoes or sugar.

If the link does not work Google “zone diet”.0 -
You need to work out what your BMR is, multiply it by 1.2 and that gives you the amount of calories you need to consume each day to maintain your weight.
Ergo if you want to LOSE weight you need to either reduce the calories you consume, OR burn off more calories than your body needs to maintain its weight.
To burn off 1 pound of fat you need a daily calorie deficit of 500 (3500 calories in 1lb, so 500 per day over the course of a week). It's what's known as a NEB - negative energy balance, meaning that you've consumed less calories than your body "needs" causing it to burn existing fat stores.
If you crash diet or try to lose too much in a week your body won't be able to cope which is why weight loss HAS to be slow and steady. Think about it, it took you a while to gain the weight in the first place so it's not gonna magically drop OFF you is it
Exercise is the key to making sure the weight stays off too - a toned body and a greater quantity of lean muscle mass means you'll naturally burn calories quicker than if you were skinny but with no tone.0 -
This is good.
www.foodfocus.co.uk
tracks everything you eat and the exercise you do.
Also helps you set a target date for weight loss. Maximum of 2lbs per week.
Hope that helps you out.

A friend has just given me this book
http://www.amazon.co.uk/You-Insiders-Guide-Permanent-Weight/dp/0007241844/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1202765054&sr=1-1
and although I have only read the first couple of chapters it is really very good. It tells you what brain chemicals are influenced by what type of food and about how hormones work to tell you that you are hungry or full. It also tells you which foods to eat to get the trigger that you want.0
