The Manager told me that it was Head Office who had decided to put the price up to £24, which is why it comes up at that price on their systems.0

Yet it's still showing on their website and on R&R at £8.73. I'd argue it, I think. Wait up, I think I've discovered the problem! Check this out:

The ones that were £24 don't appear to come with a base (now £16) or rechargeable batteries. The ones at £8.73 do. Weird. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Have just got back from Argos i told them i had rung the r & r and it said they were £8.73 instore today. She disappeared again and came back and said she was told to sell at the r & r price this time where as before they told her to only sell at what her till said.

I would advise if the r & r still says £8.73 tomorrow to go and argue the case as has already been mentioned. A big thank you to the OP and all you posters here. :beer:0 -

Definitely this should be £8.75.
I bought 2 of these one from victoria and another from marble arch london for £8.75 without any problems0 -
Picked mine up today for £8.73, lad on the till looked a little surprised and asked when I'd reserved it, when I said at the weekend he said ohh I did wonder(not sure what he meant!)
Something else I'd also bought came out first brought by another chap and a few minutes later a more senior looking lady brought the walkie talkies out exclaiming very loudly how good a deal they were and that they weren't that price yesterday! I smiled sweetly and said really, how much were they yesterday £20 odd at least she exclaimed! Oh well I have got a good deal I replied!
I think they only delivered these to some stores if they had been reserved as they were showing out of stock on the system. The lady seemed surprised I'd got them and at such a low price!
My other half is well impressed with them (they are charging up now!). Thanks again OP for this tip.0 -

Picked mine up today, took a screen print with me of the Argos page, but did not need it they honoured the price.
Got some reserved in Cheshunt - now surplus to requirements.
I know its not good form... but I won't be able to read any PMs.
So I'll post the reservation here.

First come first served? Perhaps if someone intends going they can leave a reply so others do'nt waste their time.......Are we that honest?, sorry.0 -
I picked mine up from Cheshire Oaks at £8.73. They have a good range.approx 1 mile through resedential area. Bargain! I bought the kids play walkie talkies last year for £10 and they had a range of 50 ft max0
