    Hi All

Been a busy old GB this morning. Hairdresser to cover up the grey at 8.30; then back home to finish off dismantling fish tank. Took our inner porch curtain down (has been up several years) and oh dear, the hem still had pins in :o and hadn't been washed since being hung. :o I then sat down and hand hemmed and they have just finished washing - hope they haven't shrunk! Have also spent an hour in the garden just deadheading my winter pansies, rejoicing that my polyanthus are about to flower, as is my first miniature daffodil! It is a really lovely day here in South East Scotland.

Aussie - I know you will catch up - the w@@d has subsided thank goodness. Never thought about that yesterday when big boss cornered me. If she had said anything I would have blamed it on the other users!!!!

Tru - the new addition to the family sounds lovely!

Have a great weekend dear friends.

    Love

    GB xxxxxxxxx

Up to our eyes here today as OH is in full DIY mode and has removed the bathroom and kitchen ceilings to fit new spotlights.

Dtwin2 and I have been sorting out some stuff in the bedrooms.

Can't get into the kitchen so meal plan is out the window and OH is in the mood from hell. icon9.gif

Hope you enjoy the wedding Pen Pen. x
Welcome back Essex Girl :hello: Glad you had a great holiday. x
Snowy... Why don't you look for a job with a vet or the USPCA?
Lovely traybake PenPin. I know I'm sad to notice :o but I see you've changed your work surfaces in the kitchen from granite to beech and the tiles from black to white. Please can we [STRIKE]nosy[/STRIKE] see the whole new kitchen. :D

What a glorious afternoon! Hope it stays like this for a while.:j :T

I'm having a slow day today. Got up at half ten (went to bed around half midnight) and have pottered a bit, but nothing too strenuous as yet..

Bought a bag of caustic soda yesterday, only to find out that it was bicarb of soda I needed! Have been putting off taking the tarnish off my silver jewellery for weeks, as I thought I didn't have what I needed!!! :o:D:p

For the record, in case anyone else needs to de-tarnish their silver, you need:
aluminium foil, crumpled up into the bottom of a bowl
bicarb of soda (1 cup per gallon of hot water, or however much you think you need)
    and boiling water.

Lay your silver so that it touches the foil, sprinkle the bicarb over, then pour boiling water on so that everything is submerged. Leave for ten mins or so. Use a soft cloth to buff everything up afterwards.

WM & TD are on, and I should put a loaf on too.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the day,

Hi PP.... Sorry, I was thinking of This post and it just looks so different.
    Really nice though. icon7.gif
  • Afternoon all :) Haven't read through all the posts yet, will start that in a minute in between doing the housework. One job done = 10 mins on here - see, i have a system going on! ;)

(((hugs))) to anyone who needs them today.

Its a lovely day here, very cold but sunny and clear blue sky - my fave kind of day :) OH has gone watching the footy and DD is playing outside with her barbies. I'm just gonna chill, do the housework, catch up on here etc.

My aquanatal class was great last night, we had a younger MW teach this week and she played us lots of lively, get up and go tunes so we had quite a workout :) Was talking to some of the other ladies there and they all seem nice, the first week all i managed was hello, i'm so shy sometimes :o . Then i went to pick OH up from the station and we came back and had fahijtas for tea which he declared the 'best ever' lol. I put a tin of tomatoes in with the filling to bulk it out without having to use more chicken or peppers, was nice if i say so myself :)

Have calmed down a bit about the house, worrying isn't going to do me or jellybean any good and so i'm leaving it to OH to sort out. He said he's told the tenant that people are starting work on Tues, so lets hope he shifts his backside.

B - cereal for DD, tea for me, OH will get a bacon butty at the station
D - picnic for DD (yes outside in the freezing cold lol), tuna salad for me
T - Bits and pieces from the freezer

Hope everyone has a good day

I still have the glass cabinets etc but couldnt find a picture of them. It is alot brighter though.

Haribo, I know you collect Shabby Chic stuff and was going to Freecycle a particular large crackled teapot which you can place pot pourri (sp) in....you can have it if you want. Its very Shabby Chic and was bought back from the states a couple of years ago.

Aw that's really kind of you PP but you can see from my kitchen pics that I am seriously running out of space to put stuff. :o

Why don't you put it on ebay and get some cash for it? ;)

    Thanks again. icon7.gif

One day I may be able to put a piccy of mine up but it could be another few months at my kitchen fitters rate:D

Jobs going very slowly this end - must try harder:rotfl:
