  • Morning all

Well done on the review Vicky
    Wannasave congratulations on the job

Had to laugh this morning as I have been listening to the Carpenters and DS thinks that "Calling Occupants" is "falling underpants"!

I have thoroughly scrubbed the conservatory this morning and am now waiting for it to dry. It's where the dog sleeps when I am at work so it gets a bit pongy. His duvet is soaking in the bath and I will run that through the washing machine when I get back from taking DD to ballet.

DB has promised to get the Vax out and clean the carpets for me but as he is still in bed and it's now nearly 11 I am not holding out much hope, the uniforms are all washed so I just have to dry them now.

It's a beautiful day here so I'm quite looking forward to getting out. I have to pop to Aldi while I'm out too as I managed to forget a few things yesterday.

Morning all ! Bright and sunny but really cold...........shan't be venturing out today !!! Had my bit of 'retail therapy' for this week.
Thousand and one things I could do.........sort out books/paint cupboard, make some easter cards, start filling in 'memory book' for my grandchildren, inspect my wardrobe which nearly exploded on me last night when I was putting a jumper in there...............lol
Spoiled for choice so have to give it all careful thought.
Advertised old bike on Freecycle.............try to feel hopeful about it but the speakers we had never got collected last night so I've given up on them.
Hate that when people say they'll collect and just don't turn up -twice thats happened.
Oh well, I've stuffed them in the cupboard under the stairs with the two sewing machines that need repairing - might stick them on freecycle as well if someone bothers to take the bike.

Oopps............postmans been and I've got a couple of packages (plus credit card statements - yuk !)

Have a great day and hugs (((((((((((((:o )))))))))))to all those who need them

  • morning everyone

Got up at 7.30am and drove to Blackpool to go to Mr T's. A gorgeous sunny morning so the drive was very pleasant. Got a couple of boxes of the Lindt Swiss Chocolates that are mentioned on the Grabbit Board. Will put them away for my DMum and DD (who loves Lindt choc!).

Washing is on the line :j for the first time this year. Trying a ciabatta in the Panny for the first time. Hope it works. Have tidied around downstairs but today's main job is to build up DS's new bed (yes, the saga continues. The base slats should be delivered next week). DS and DD are with XDH this coming week so I can empty DS's room and get the bed built so that I only have to add the slats when they are delivered. Of course, if Tesco let me down then DS will have to sleep on a mattress on DD's bedroom floor.

Have a sunny Saturday everyone and ((hugs)) to those who need them. xx

  • Hi Again!!

Thanks for the lovely comments. The recipe is one that Queenie posted a while ago I think:

    Basic Sponge-Makes 24 squares

    350g soft butter/marg
    350g caster sugar
    6 medium eggs
    350g SR flour
    1tsp baking powder

All ingredients in a bowl (I put in the mixer) then put in a tin 12x8x2 on 170c for 35mins roughly. Then just ice to requirement. I am going to try a carrot cake one with walnuts next week:D

    The worktops are beech yes.

DD has done the car now and looks shiny.

    Hugs to all.

    PP

Hi everyone. Penpin your tray bake looks scrummy:EasterBun -thanks for posting recipe, think I might make one. By the way penpin, you know your photo of your traybake? Don't mean to be nosey but is the cover on your mixer? I haven't got a cover for mine, any idea where I could get one or are they dead easy to make?
It's lovely bright sunshine where I live too. (((hugs))) to all who need or want one. I had a long lay in this am and eldest DD brought me a cuppa in bed-bless her. Well i think I had better write a list of jobs I need to do-if I don't write a list i'll end up on here far longer than I intended-again. Be back later.

Hubby is beginning to look more human & has regained the power of speech, enough to request a cuppa at regular intervals.
I've cleaned out the fridge & I'm making a casserole in the SC with a pork chop & all the other bits I found in the fridge.
I've also counted all the squares I've crocheted & it's 120, so I'm very pleased, I'm going to start sewing them together into blocks tonight.
    The cake looks yummy PP.
    Hugs Hester

What's going on!?Not half term here until next week but we are taking kids outta school and going away on Thursday morning can't wait!!Quiet weekend planned DS 6 has the social life with football training today and a match tomorrow and he has a party this afternoon! The rest of us will hopefully get the house sorted and start organising packing (urhggg!).We had fun this morning when the neighbour said they'd seen a rabbit running in front of their house, DD and I spent over half an hour tracking down our excaped lopeared bunny called Cricket. Maybe we should rename hime Houdini!
