Morning all. A beautiful day here today; bright sparkling sunshine and blue skies and not that cold.

REDRUBY - like you, I wash DH's clothes separately from everything else. Every job he's ever had has been 'dirty'! I think he's just a typical boy! Still, at least we can peg it out in this weather.

Our half term doesn't start till next week so my DGS and DGD have another week to go. Fortunately, they both like school.

Well, I have done all my chores including the ironing and prepping the veg for tomorrow's roast. We have leftover stew for tonight so that will be easy and I've decided pudding is the rest of a big bar of Cadbury's Turkish Delight that we started yesterday!

    HESTER - Yes, it's all b******s when they've had a few, isn't it? Bet he's nursing a hangover now.

I tried to do some knitting last night but I was so tired I just kept dozing off. DH had to take the knitting off me. He said I was knitting in my sleep! Anyway, I had a good night's sleep - five whole hours, which is good for me.

Well, I'm going to do some work now; DH is off quoting on two jobs so I have a couple of hours to myself - I work much better on my own. He keep distracting me with cups of coffee.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    See you later.

Been up alot through the night with OH. He has a really sore throat and has a temperature, but because of this his asthma was very bad and had problems breathing a few times. I wanted to call the doctor, but he said no! He seems a little brighter this morning but still not great.

WM is on and DW has been emptied. DD is cleaning the car for OH:D

    Made a traybake yesterday and took a picture:j :j :j

the end bit has been eaten:rotfl: ...we worked it out that it cost under £1 to make:j :j :j :j and made 24 pieces. We used the tin from Lakeland and have stored it now in the container.

Hope everyone is ok. Hugs to all.

Morning everyone - cold and frosty one here

We are waiting for dd18 to text to say that she is awake so we can have an exciting trip to specsavers to pick some new frames for dd11. We are taking bikes so we can bring the weekly shop back - I am going to try to cook all the evening meals for the week on monday which is my non working day - I did try once a month cooking ages ago ...... horrid - but htis should be a lot less ambitious.

I did no flyladying whatsoever this week so a lot of catching up to do - I'm going to try to persuade dd11 to do jobs for pay later.

She has decided that the planned-anyway trip to london tomorrow for chinese new year will be her treat for doing so well in her SATs mocks as long as we can go to a chinese buffet while we're there.
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

It's beautiful here, cold and sunny. The birds are going mad. Didn't wake up until 08.45, DS is very bouncy today. Will take him swimming later to get rid of some energy.

Washing has done ON and is on the line. Need to do some ironing in a minute and have a clear up. DSS and his girlfriend are coming over for dinner - roast pork, roast tatties, parsnips, carrots, sprouts and brocoli. Pudding will be rice pudding done in the SC with homemade strawberry jam:D. Off to have a quick look at green-fingered board.

Have a good day all and hugs to all who need one.

  • Penny-Pincher!! That looks yummy

Did you just use a normal flavour cake ? We were trying to devise some flavoured plain cakes ( DS doesnt like bits or currants in cakes) So far we have made 2 with chocolate chips and 2 with lemon,( I used half a lemon for each) But i cant think of any others. I hadnt thought of one with icing and sprinkles :)
furrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:

Wannasavemoney - well done on the job, hope it goes well

    PP - Lovely cake

Well back from holiday to lovely sunshine, it really is a lovely day here in Essex - pity I wont be able to get out much to enjoy it though.

Had a fantastic holiday - weather was hotter than normal - we were over 90 last week, q's were low at all the parks (20mins average) so we got on all the rides we wanted, bar Jaws which was shut the whole time we were there. Did loads of shopping and as usual had to buy a new suitcase to come home with. Glad to be home thought - 2 weeks is definately enough and also looking forward to some good home cooked food (wish someone else was cooking it though)

Only downside was we booked premium seating which was worth it but everyone else seemed to have a small baby that screamed the whole way though the flight - poor things. We didnt take ours abroad until they were 3.

Anyway back to reality - washing half done, at least 4 loads to do today and have a humoungus (sp) mountain of ironing but have loads of things on sky+ so thats ok, house tidy just need to find some room for all the extra stuff we bought. Its very dusty though and as for my office - have a massive in pile of stuff plus 2 weeks bookeeping which includes end of month - should be fun. I will make another cup of coffee and make a start in a minute.

Oh nearly forgot - whilst in Epcot we were chosen as their 'Family of the Day' which was very embarrassing although brilliant for the kids. We had to go in front of the crowds when it opened - had a photo sessions with Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale then everyone had to wait whilst we were driven in a test track car to the Test Track ride - all the staff lined the route waving at us. Noone was allowed on Test Track till we had our go - it was very strange walking through a ride empty - it was good fun.

Anyway best be off as have a million things on my to do list and also want to try and catch up on here at some point!

    Have a great day.
  • Good morning everyone

Pen pin - cake looks delish!!!! i might have to make one now!!!

Blitz my kitchen yesterday and now it looks brilliant!!!! Wonder how long it will stay like that especially when DD1 wants to make flapjacks!!!

Got friends coming over tonight for a chinese so that should be nice. Dh still has the man flu so is moaning he wont be able to taste very much - i did offer to cancel but he said no so what can i do?!?!

WM is on for the third time this morning and i have another load to do once that has finished - i will leave the bedding til tomorrow.

Right off to do some hoovering and having a general tidy-up.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Liz xx
