I ordered a Mont Blanc Playcentre and actually rec'd it, but I am still having problems. I fully assembled the playcentre, but on the last page of the instructions I am told to embed it to the ground using the "special feet and concrete mix supplied" I rec'd neither.
I have contacted B&Q by phone and email and I am getting nowhere. They state that they are not supposed to supply these items with the playcentre and won't help. I have contacted the manufacturer by phone and left by details on their answering service but noone has got back to me.
Has anyone else ordered this playcentre? Where you supplied with these items? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Its frustrating having this playcentre built up in the garden and the kids are not able to use it.Tayyibah0 -
Kamray,
We had a mont blanc last year but definitely did not receive concrete mix. I think there were metal bracket things but we didn't use them, we drove a stake into the ground and bolted it to the "legs". I don't think it was likely to move but we made sure it wouldn't!!0 -
Guys,
Whats the latest with the table tennis table - have B&Q started sourcing them, or still refusiing to budge - been out of the country for 3 weeks and dont fancy reading through 100s posts.
If they are refusuing to budge - how do you start legal proceedings for small claims court - where do you begin?
Do you have to purchase the goods elsewhere first???

Tyre and rope accessory. Did anybody by chance keep there's.
I was lucky and got the Ben Nevis through complaining. My tyre and rope was not sent as out of stock by the time I got the call from them to re do my order. I understand that lots of people had them but some were returned because B&Q could not deliver the climbing frame but still delivered the rope and tyre. I have today tried to track down where the returns went as they did not come back up for sale .
Nobody knows at B&Q where the returned ones went. One suggestion from them was a skip!!!! They say I have no way of getting one from them.
If any one had the tyre and not the frame and want to sell it please let me know.0 -
bootman: You're better off without the tyre. It was poorly designed and the rubber tore within days. Pick up driver said he'd had to pick up loads of these for return/refund.Herman - MP for all!0

bootman make your own
i made my own for the back garden and it cost me nothing!! I went down the local council tip and they gave me a massive lorry tyre for free. Then i went down my local sailing club, and they had some old rope that they gave to me for free as they wanted rid of it.
Much easier and better quality than you would get from b&q0 -
I've still got mine, but tbh it'd cost more in delivery that it's worth.
Been waiting for over 2 weeks for it picking up but still nobody's been in touch. I tell a lie, they did come un-announced within a day of me being told that I wouldn't get my playcentre. At the time it was hidden away from the kids in the back of my car and I was at work.
I've complained about 4 times for someone to collect it and refund, but still no show.
They sugested I dropped it off myself at my local B&Q's, which I told them that this wasn't going to happen as I'm not setting foot inside a B&Q store anytime soon. Anyways, it was their cockup so it can be their expense to pick it up.
Right, time to nip through to 'Wickes' to spend some cash. New project 'Tiling Bathroom Floor'.

I got the special feet with mine but no concrete mix (although this was the mckinley playcentre) the feet are flat metal things with a forked bit at the end. you screwed them on to the playcentre at the bottom and them concreted them into the dround.0 -

go to the county court and get a claim form.
You may get some assistance from CAB or trading standards.
Write to B&Q, inform them they have 14 days to come up with a decent offer or you'll be taking them to a small claims court.
DH doesn't agree you have to purchase something elsewhere, you just have to show the tables are available elsewhere.:rudolf:0
