Well tomorrow is D-Day for us regarding our delivery, I'm one of the many people that seem to have had lost orders etc. I have just spoken to the delivery people and they said that everything's on course for tomorrow as per the card and I'm to receive 5 boxes...desperate to get excited about this but daren't do so in case I get an empty box with a brick in it tomorrow

Looks like I'll get a call and an offer of a £20 voucher then.. lol
As expected I recieved a phone call this evening with an appology, an offer of full refund and £20 voucher for the inconvenience.
I said that I wasn't aware my credit card had been debited so really all you are offering is a £20 voucher for two and a half weeks of broken promises, dissapointment and wasted time/effort? :mad:
I put it to him that I have details of another person who had ordered the exact same item as myself at roughly the same time. They had an order confirmation number sequencialy after mine, yet somehow they recieved their order and I didn't.
To this he said he would have to investigate further.
I also mentioned about the recent article of a simular complaint that was published in the Southampton Echo and was interested to read that they were offered considerably more than a £20 voucher as a 'Good Will Gesture'.
I left the conversation rejecting his £20 offer and him saying he would need to pass on some of the information I'd given him to his manager. He said that he would phone me tomorrow morning (at work).

Wizz i can tell you what is coming..you will get a statement from B&Q stating that due to a combination of them miscalculating the popularity of the offer and a computer error on the 16th and 17th orders were taken when they had ran out of stock. All conversations from then forward will just be cut and pasted from that statement. I ordered my item early on the 15th...i must have been one of the first to order and my order was accepted and i was given a delivery date...the stock then vanished and i was offered the insulting £20 vouchers. Basically they have sold the item from underneath me and breached the contract they have made with me...i know because i too have statements from people who ordered after me..i am now gathering all of the evidence together into a legal claim against them and look forward to stating my case in court.

mine(well 2.5 and 16 week old girlies) is due this afternoon........im not holding my breath though,am fully expecting them to either not turn up,have bits missing or it be damaged again!! its my second attempt as i had one delivered on the 28th but it was incomplete and what was there was badly damaged so i refused delivery.
will update later.
edit :- just rang deliver to home and asked if they could confirm delivery this afternoon and what they had for me and she confirmed delivery between 12 and 6pm and told me they had loaded on a ben nevis from B+Q in 5 boxes!!! ooohhhhhhhh im getting excited now.......that'll be it damaged then!!! will let you know if it arrives.0 -
Well I've just got my letter from B & Q which basically rambles on about the same old thing e.g. the system crash, etc and they cannot source suitable alternatives. LIARS - as I've previously said many, many times Plum have the EXACT tttable sitting there waiting for b & Q to purchase!! :mad:
Anyway enclosed is my £20. vouchers with wording in my letter stating " Acceptance by you of this payment is acknowledgement that this is in full and final settlement of any claim you allege arise out of this transaction without admission of liability by B & Q plc"
Can anyone enlighten me as to the real meaning of this? I have always stressed that I was not happy with accepting a refund or £ 20. compensation.

I think the best thing to do is return the vouchers with a letter sent recorded delivery saying you never wanted or acceped the vouchers, seems like they are trying it on.
If you spend them then you are accepting that the matter is closed0 -
I receieved my vouchers yesterday even after repeatedly telling them that i didn't want them. They offered to send me a stamped addressed envelope, i said i'd send them back recorded as they will probably lose them a little bit like they lost my order. They will probably now send me £20 vouchers to apologise for sending me the £20 in error!!! I really do not think they know what they are doing. What we all need to do is now build up a database of each and every case. There are a lot of legal avenues to go down and we need to ensure that we take B&Q down them all. Also represenatives of B&Q may be monitoring this forum so it may be an idea if we all somehow exchange email addresses via PM..that way we have the element of suprise on our side!0

I received a £10 voucher from B&Q this morning, which is going straight back to them via recorded delivery.
If anyone else needs to PM me their B&Q stories, I shall continue to collate everyone's details. At the moment, I have 50 messages, which is the maximum allowed. Am gonna have to make sure I have copies of them all before deleting them, so please hold off PM'ing me until this evening so that I can ensure I don't lose anyone's details.
Those of you who have PM'd me already, your details will shortly be going off to the various PTB's on my list, and hopefully we will be able to get this fiasco sorted out once and for all!0 -
