  • It is the lies more than anything that makes me so angry.
    And the sheer reluctance to want to do anything.
    I swear, if i am possibly able i won't be shopping in B&Q again after the way we have been treated.
    We said we were happy to take a jungle gym at reduced price, but they would not even negotiate on that, and surely that would be a reasonable alternative to offer?
    It seems they have been short sighted as to see an initial loss on these sales, as the most important thing to stop. They don't seem to have considered that unhappy customers may shop elsewhere from now on.
    It's a shame because a new warehouse is opening in our town soon, but I'm sure we'll happily manage with Focus and Homebase if this matter isn't resolved positively for the customer in some way.

    Has anyone actually found some reasonably priced play centres elsewhere?

    I too will be reviewing my shopping habbits if this simply gets brushed under the carpet.

    According to the records I keep on Microsoft Money, I've spent £1,712.78 at B&Q in the past 20 months. And this figure doesn't include cash spending. :eek:

    I also currently use https://www.screwfix.com another company from the Kingfisher group :think:

    My letter of comlaint has just been sent recordered delivery to the CEO at B&Q HQ.

    I ordered mine on the 15th as well - in fact, I ordered mine before posting this 'bargain' and received nothing :(
  • Have today had an Email reply from customer services (a week after writing to them I may add) am I allowed to copy & paste it on this thread for you all to read?

    They state that they are expecting thier investigations to be complete by close of business on Monday 8th August.

    Have at last had an apology too!

    delivery arranged today, arrived, but only one part. called them they want to refund me i have said no. they can not offer a replacement as they have nothing to offer.can not honor the price next year, blar, blar, blar. really naffed off will send in my details to who ever is doing the thing to send to watchdog.

    Wasn't sure if I was breaking any rules as I am new to this.

    This is the Email I had from them today.

    Dear Ms XXXXX

    I refer to your recent email sent to this office regarding the problems
    you have encountered with your order placed through our Direct Channel.

    Please be advised that we are aware of these problems and are currently
    carrying out extensive investigations as to why these problems have
    occurred. When these investigations are complete we intend to contact all
    customers who have orders again to advise them of our intentions. We
    expect to do this by the close of business on Monday 8th August .

    In the meantime, I hope you will accept our apologies for the upset and
    inconvenience caused.

    B&Q Customer Services Department


    I know why the problems occurred, it doesn't take a genius to work it out-
    Bad website management! It should not be beyond the wits of any competent website designer to enable the site to count & so not sell items they no longer have.


    I'll keep you all posted with what or anything as it happens.

    By the way, I have sent my completed form to Watchdog to add to the many others I'm sure that have been sent already.

    As far as I can tell - if B&Q dont ome up trumps with a replacement subsidise the difference between the sale and what we have to pay elsewhere - we ARE covered by Loss of Bargain! Just received this mail from Plum Customer Services:
