  • Had a call post-meeting from someone in the Chief Exec's Office. B&Q will apparently be issuing a statement on the thread tomorrow, which will provide a 'satisfactory solution for all'. He also said that they would be sending a direct letter to Martin L.

Was told that their meeting has raised a number of 'actions' & that they will re-convene tomorrow to finalise things. It all sounds rather promising, although he also said that B&Q's relationship with their suppliers had been 'severly compromised', which may've been his way of saying they can't get some things (?) -No indication of who the suppliers of the playcentres are though, sorry.

He also said they would be posting a dedicated No. for agreived people to ring and they would contact ALL customers with unfulfilled orders (?this also means those refunded).

At least we should all get a categoric decision now.

Please don't stop checking this thread after phoning the number everyone -I don't trust B&Q to ensure everyone's happy.

Oh and it was really funny at one point as he seemed to be saying the media was not the way & that we should have gone for Trading Standards approach. I pointed out that it appaers that it is only because of the collective efforts of this website that they seem to be doing anything! Good move I'd say!

Well done everyone, I think we may be begining to crack it!

!!!!.. gonna have to clear the garage again by the sound of it !! :D

If it's good news it'll be just my luck that they try to delivery when I'm on holiday and the process will go full circle again... 'mine' sold to someone else who was able to take delivery, then stock'll run out... oh lordy !!
  • Thank you- that's brilliant news! The only problem now will be getting through to the jammed up phone lines at B&Q's new complaints number

Well dont want to count my chickens or anything, but well done to those of you who have actually made progress with the people you have contacted in B&Q, and have forced them to have a good look at this problem.

Quite ironic in a way that even in the complaints process we are still all having varying degrees of success/progress and are still being told a variety of stories!

The users of this site must have increased dramatically as well! I must admit I only ever read the threads until this offer appeared, and now I am getting quite addicted to this message posting!

I really hope all the orders will be fulfilled after all. It's a shame that B&Q don't seem to care about individual customers or their complaints. It's only since they've realised that a lot of unhappy customers have got together on this forum that they are thinking about doing anything. If it wasn't for this forum they may well have got away with fobbing us all off.
  • I hope that they resolve things to all of our satisfaction too.

I had no idea of the enormity of this untill I happened to mention to a friend yesterday how disappointed I was with B & Q. She is a member of this web site & said that there was a thread going here about it. So I just had to join in & say "me too". Really pleased I did too because as I said in my first post,I had resingned myself to never getting my order & now it seems there is a glimmer of hope.
  • THANKYOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN MAKING HEADWAY INTO THIS.
i ordered my ben nevis on the 18th at 6.30am.....delivery arranged for 28th....credit card debited almost immediately and showing on statement online ever since as B+Q direct so they have had my money gaining interest since the 18th too!!
the delivery came on the 28th but as soon as they got here the man told me one part was missing....not a problem i thought-can conract/chase it up....but after unloading 3 other bits right round the back of my house and into the garden i got called out to the van.....one of the main bits was badly, badly damaged.the delivery guy said best to refuse delivery so i did....it was obvious that this bit had been damaged by the forklift whilst getting it onto lorry.
rang B+Q straight away.....was told i couldnt be certain if it would be replaced.i said that i would 'play merry hell' if i didnt get one and would be seeking legal advice as well as contacting trading standards etc.that lady rang me back twice in the meantime to say no update....i rang myself on monday and got told that my order was showing on thier computer as 'back out for delivery' and to expect a call from home delivery or to contact them myself on wednesday.they rang me and delivery has been arranged for the 12th of august now.
although after reading this i am quite sure i wont get it.
this is diabolical..........i will be taking this as far as possible and will also be cancelling our B+Q account......loosing them thousands as we have the complete house to renovate, decorate and also the huge back garden to do and fence too.....so a lot of money!!
frogling....will pm you all details as promised....sorry i didnt do the other day....kids!!!

After complaining to head office I have had my telephone call from them today at 4.45pm (obviously after meeting) stating that they would only offer m,e a refund. They said there was nothing else they would do. I blankly refused the refund and said it wasn.t the end for me. I have sought legal advice today and am quite sure we are all covered under 'the sales of goods act'. B & Q are in breech of the contracts they fulfilled with us. And to top it all off their customer service has been disgusting. My next step is to get a solicitors letter and fire off loads of copies to every previous address mentioned on the forum.. I have also emailed watchdog. Anyone else got any further??????
  • Another B&Q fiasco person. Simmilar to everyone else, but got a Delivery Card for this morning, after we were told it was unavailable. However we got a 'phone call after 6pm today to tell us we could have a refund or wait until September when they get a delivery in of the Mont Blanc Play Gym. Is this following the Chief Execs Meeting?

@Jodyl - Did you complain to Head Office by phone or letter? I've just sent a letter off today recorded delivery for their CEO.

@Redhillblue - Did you originaly order the Mont Blanc, or is this being offered as a substitute?
