bootman wrote:I ordered on the Monday and again the Wednesday - heaps of calls Chief execs office complaint file opened and someone is following thru for me. Even got called by B&Q to make sure Cristina had called me back to take c/card details again. I called the delivery people today, they said 8th August.
They better not have messed up again about this stock that came in last week!!:rudolf:0 -
I too am being let down by B & Q. For me it is a missing table tennis table.
My story sounds similar to a lot of peoples. I ordered on 18th and paid on 18th. Rang a couple of days later to confirm and was given carrier details.
Got a postcard on Saturday to confirm delivery then got called by the carrier today to say that the item doesn't exhist. Called B + Q to be told "tough, we can do this. It's in our terms and conditions".
Can someone help me please with something. I had a similar issue a couple of years ago and discussed the issue with a solicitor. They informed me that if a company takes money from your credit card they have entered into a contract to provide the goods stated and have to provide the item for the price stated, even if they have to go out and buy the item themselves at a higher cost. At the time the item was subsequently supplied so I didn't have to go down this legal road, but I wondered if anyone could confirm or deny whether this is actually true and that B + Q have to provide items for everything they have taken money for.
Thanks0 -
Just been reminded after reading through some previous posts - when I was set to write my complaint letter last week (before being promised allocation of the new stock coming in), I noted that Kingfisher is the parent company to B&Q, so while we're all sending these letters we might as well copy them in as well.
Details are:

I'm determined that we are all going to get a play centre, even if we have to wait until next summer!!0 -
I was told to write to Carl Boyd (Team manager) If anyone has anyone of higher authority then please let me know.

I always go straight to the Chief Exec. I forget the B&Q Chief Execs name at the moment but it has been posted on here before & is on their website, along with the address for him. If he gets enough complaints maybe he'll act, who knows?0

Thanks, also any idea how to get this to the news papers0

Oops, tried to post and I don't know where it's gone.
According to the B&Q website, the Chief Exec is Ian Cheshire.
I think the best way of contacting the papers is to ring the News Desk (I guess the details would be listed either in the newspaper concerned or on it's website). Best to have a precis of the issue to hand and then be prepared to elaborate.
Also wondered about Radio 4, You and Yours programme and Radio 2, Jeremy Vine.stayathomemum0 -
Louise1521 wrote:Unbelievable!!!! We ordered a Wooden Play Castle a couple of weeks ago. The order was accepted and a delivery date given of today. Received 3 postcards confirming delivery. What turned up? The slide that attaches to the playcentre!!!!!! Phoned B&Q and apparently the order was put through seperately, the slide was the only thing in stock so it was sent out. So not happy, how can that happen?? So we've been charged £85 for a slide you can't use.
As per my posting a few pages back, I was told delivery would take place Friday 29th. They delivered a slide and four upright posts. Courier said that's all they had. Called B&Q and yes, they only send out what they've got on the day of the delivery, so if they've delivered stuff to other folk before you, you will end up at the end of the line with no stock.
Basically B&Q are taking orders for stock they do not have which is mis-represntation. I too have a partial delivery but suspect we may be in luck as to partly deliver means they've committed to deliver all of it. I feelsorry for those who've been told no stock at all and getting just refunds.
Still don't understand how they can send out a slide that is of no use at all without the other bit to attach it to. Somewhere in B&Q there are at least two wooden frames missing slides!.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
I was told that the other bits are out of stock, but not showing as discontinued. You're right though, why would they have the slides and not the rest?
Really hope it gets sorted.0 -
