    I ordered mine on the 20th July at 7.33 am. I am waiting , waiting , waiting for the call from Kerry (Customer care) No joy, strange thing is she is either training at lunch or on a break. I am at a loss what to do.

    We got our Mc Kinley on Thursday. DH started putting it up in the driving rain on Friday but we too were missing bolts and the turrett for the top of one tower. Phone B and Q and they said that they knew those bits were missing and probably not getting anymore so pls go and buy bolts and they will give our money back for them. However the turrett looks like a no go too and I am awaiting a call from customer services on Monday to see if they have found our bit. Not holding out much hope though.
    Having siad that it was still a major bargain.

    All that is missing on mine (I think) are the bolts and instuctions I was told there is another parcel they should have sent with main delivery and will phone Monday or Tuesday to confirm delivery day. I agree though still very good bargain.

    Also I have just seen that the eyelets are missing which carry the swing and rope ladder.
    Look after the pennies and the pounds will spend themselves

    Excellent glad you finally got one. I think you ordered on the same day as me Wed 20th, I was told wasn't getting one. Phoned and wrote and complained had a phone call last mon saying nothing they could do, then a message left on thurs saying I had been allocated one!!!. They were supposed to be phoning to take cc details again but still nothing have chased twice will try again today.

    Hope it shows up

  • Well surprise surprise DH has just been phoned to say there's nothing left and nothing they can do.
    He's absolutely fuming. And we're disgusted to have been lied to for so long. And for so many wasted phonecalls. :mad:
    What makes them think that telling us we'll be called later in the week about allocation is preferable to being told there and then we have nothing?

    same here mirandamayhem - To say I'm pee'd off is understating it... just a tad :mad:

    That was 2 weeks of stress and hastle I could have done without.

    Originaly placed order 7:30am-ish Monday 18 July, but on final confirm order I recievd an 'error screen'. Phoned CS @ 8am as I didn't want to double order. Was told that orders weren't downloaded till later in the morning and I should phone back then. Which when I did, the order hadn't been processed and the items were now 'temporarily out of stock'. :mad:

    Playcentres appeared again Tuesday 19 July and I ordered and got confirmation email @ 7:27am - I even ordered the tyre swing accessory on a seperate order 3 mins later. :j

    Phoned at lunch time to check the status of my order only to be told, only the order for the tyre swing could be traced and the Ben Nevis order wasn't showing. Asked to call back the next day :mad:

    Again Wednesday 20 July the Ben Nevis appeared back in stock - I phoned to see if my previous days order had now arrived only to be told it hadn't. While on the phone the guy could also see the item was showing in stock and advised me to order again. This I did at 8:05am and recieved a confirmation email.

    I phoned @ 9am to be that a supervisor would call me back. They never did

    11:00am Called again and spoke to guy called Michael who appoloised and said he was in process of calling people with failed orders and advising them that they would be getting more stock the following week and given the option to cancel their order or hold - I opted to hold and he took my credit card details. He went on to say that someone would call me early the following to arrange a delivery date.

    Monday July 25 - Called to chase up order had I hadn't recieved a delivery slot. Again could find my order. Someone was going to call me back. They never did :mad:

    ALSO - Recieved phone call from delivery company to say my Tyre Swing would be delivered on Thursday. :D

    Tuesday July 26 - Phoned delivery company numbers to see if they had any record of my orders. They didn't.

    Phoned B&Q @ 9.30 am to be told person I needed to talk to was in a meeting, but they'd have them call me back within the hour. They never did :mad:

    11:45am Phoned again as no return call - Now person I need to speak to 'Kerry' is in training and won't be back till early afternoon. They put a note on her desk to call me back. She never did :mad:

    2:30pm And and another phone call and stressed all I needed to know was whether or not I'd got a playcentre. If not just to put me out my mysery, but I had a tyre swing being delvierd and as yet nothing to fasten it to. She took my postcode and name and went away for 5 mins. On return she said I definitly do have a playcentre reserved in my name and someone would call me in today or tomorrow to arrange delivery.

    At this I thought the wait was finaly over :beer:

    Thursday 27 July - Tyre swing arrived :j

    Phoned to chase up Ben Nevis and again they took postcode and name and went away to check list. Was told I did have a Ben Nevis and I was to expect a call in the next day or two.

    Monday 01 August
    Had phone call to say they have no more Ben Nevis's and I wouldn't be getting one.
    10min heated debate about time wasted - kids disapointed looking at the tyre with nothing to attach to etc.. etc..

    COMPLAINTS TIME!!

    One question to all: Did anyone order their Ben Nevis after 7:27am Tuesday 19 July get one or was offered an alternative? Guy from B&Q said nobody after that time got one - I don't believe him.

    Now I'm waiting for a phone call for the delivery folk to collect the tyre swing.

    I totally agree I found out today also that i have not got one they have no record of me phoning with my credit card details and I have been fobbed off ever since. I will be writing to complain as soon as I have a copy of a cost of all the phone calls. Biggest frustration has been the delay had i known early on that I wasn't going to get one i think I could have just accepted that mistakes happen. I only found out my situation because I phoned head office three times and got my complaint logged so they had to follow it up and respond.
  • Maybe BBC's "Watchdog" would be interested in this complete c**k up. I know that they get an awful lot of correspondence, even when the programme is off-air. However, if enough of us write/fill in the form on their website sl*ging off B&Q, they might sit up and take notice.

    I have just been on the phone to B&Q again, to be told that the order can not be completed due to lack of stock. All week I have been told from Kerry, I will be getting my matterhorn and swing, what a total shambles. My two boys are now in floods of tears, their old play cantre has been sold to a neighbour, so not only do they not have there new Matterhorn, they also have the indignity of having to watch my friends kids play on their old swings and slides two doors up.
    Where to go now, watchdog I guess and the papers. This is so terrible I can not describe how upset I am.
