well my order is confirmed to be delivered on 28 July (Wooden Castle Play Centre) i ordered on friday evening.

my experience has been good with b&q customer services.. they answered the phone in less a minute, and i got proper answers to my questions.

This is just the best bargain ever for me..

Just been back on the phone as no Supervisor has yet called back.

Different sales person now - They can't find both my old or new order - They do have an order for the tyre accesories which ain't much use without the play centre to attach it to (I ordered seperatly).

The customers sevices are friendly, they're just as confused as to why these items are displaying 'In Stock' and orders being lost/cancelled.

Now awaiting call from a guy who's been dealing with these problems who starts at 10am.

I feel a long complaints letter firing off to B&Q head office if this goes (as I expect) belly up.

I've got two kids who've been sat in the back garden for 3 days, in tears, awaiting their new Play Centre.

W1zz - please post when you get your call back on how you get on with the chap dealing with this problem. I could not get them to pass me to anyone who seemed to know what was happening.

Ordered mine yesterday at about 09:30-09:40 confirmation e-mail at 09:53.

Called B&Q just now apparently the system is cracking up. My order is not yet showing on the system (hmmm). Anyway the guy gave me his name and extension and asked me to call tomorrow. He said they have taken 300 orders for this item in the last few days (Ben Nevis).

He did however promise that if there was a problem they would honour the item at the original price paid (£146), currently showing "not in stock"! So this is looking like a long drawn out affair will just need to stay calm me thinks.

Interestingly called the freephone number first and they didn't have a clue so I had to call the 08700 number.

Just called back as again no supervisor has called :mad:

I've spoke to a guy called Michael, who's in the team dealing with these items and he explained the items are currently out of stock - But they are getting new stock in next week.

He asked if this delay was acceptable and if I wanted to keep my order, to which I agreed, as long as I got the play centre and it stopped appearing on the internet as being in stock (unless it was).

He took my credit card details and was told to expect a call next week regarding delivery, or if they had any problems. :rolleyes:

He went on to say 'the team' are currently phoning customers of the 'failed orders' to explain they have no stock and giving the customer the option to hold until they come back in stock, or cancel the orders. If you continue with the order, you will be asked for your CC details.

Although as they don't know the new stock levels for next week, there were no guarantees that I will get this playcentre.

.....Sigh!........

Seems like it's just the big stuff they have the problems with, the activity gym and slide that I ordered are fine. (Not that that is much comfort to some of you guys.)

I'm desperate to get the McKinley. Have been trying since seeing this thread but no luck - they're always out of stock when I get there! I hope they come back on. I haven't dared say anything to my 4 yr old in case I have to disappoint her. Well done to Frogling though for an excellent find - will nominate for post of the month whether I get one or not

In the hope that Ben Nevis arrives safe and sound, does anyone have any suggestions about where I can get hold of cheap play sand? Or will builders sand be ok?
