Likewise, got phoned at 4pm yesterday to let me know that the TT table was discontinued and wouldn't be coming as part of the order today.
Phoned B&Q tonight, they said that it might take up to 14 days to come back in. But it's not coming back in is it?
Very very poor. They should honour the orders they have taken. They can easily order to fulfill these orders, and that is what they should do.

How do the terms and conditions on the website cover them?

expecting delivery Tuesday 2nd august - but have just phoned them after reading these posts. They have told me that it is not in stock and is now discontinued. They were going to deliver to me last tuesday but I had to check I could have the day off and when I got back to them they said it would have to be delivered a week later.

I am now waiting for a call back and am very cheesed off!!!

Just spoken to Ed at B & Q customer services. As you can imagine they are very, very sorry!!! (not as sorry as we are) but there are no stocks available and apparently they CAN'T ( I think he should have said won't) source them from anywhere. I mentioned that they are available at argos and wondered if they felt they had a moral obligation to obtain them and honour these purchases. He said the ones at argos weren't the same. I said I was prepared to accept this. Listen to this - he said when I get my refund I can go and get one from argos!!

Also Ed was very sorry but it WAS a genuine error on their part with their stock control and you will be happy to know they are still looking into it - he is on 02380256256 till 8 pm - I am sure he will be happy to take more calls to tell us how sorry he is!!!

at the end of the day - its not our problem - they messed up and need to compensate! Will be interesting to see what trading standards say!

Just back from Willy Wonka ! Told the kids we could have 3 trips to the cinema for the price of that tabletennis table that's no longer coming ! Er... didn't quite work... but the film was good anyways !

Anyone reading these last couple of pages of posts must think we're a right bunch of stropping bods. I'm sorry if I for one come across in that manner but please understand our disappointment and frustrations of this outcome. Especially when there are a lot of disappointed kids involved.

If this was one of those obvious mis-price opportunities then I would have just smiled and shrugged my shoulders, c'est la vie. But this one wasn't.

Something I've shamefully not done until now is to thank the OP. Even if it's not work out well for me this time, I'm more than grateful for the opportunity that your post offered.

A genuine well done to those who got sorted, including my best mate who ordered after me ! I'll be forced to go round for more late night drinking sessions with 'em now !

I had a delivery date for Table tennis for last Tuesday. They delivered a table football instead of Table tennis. Rang up & was told no problem they def had more stock & would sort it out straight away & would get rung back with a new delivery date soon. This morning got a phone call to basically say tough it's now discontinued.They don't now have any stock after all! No offer of compensation, nothing. To make things worse the ben nevis they delivered yesterday has parts missing. Have been promised parts will be sent in a few days but don't feel very confident. If the missing parts aren't sent & they come to pick the ben nevis back up I am going to make sure I separate each piece of wood so it takes them ages to reload it back onto lorry! Am def going to complain to head office ,though they don't appear to care about customer service. For such a big company I can't believe their shoddy service where even after being given a delivery date it doesn't guarantee you will get your order fullfilled. I've never come across a company as useless before ever.

Hope this dosent sound like a gloat, I was 1 of the fortunate souls to get a table tennis table and the kids have been making very good use of it for the last 6 days. However I thought I would share my expierience this evening - While I was folding it up for the night the hold thing toppled over, Im not sure if it hit a bit of uneven ground or I assembled it poorly. although I checked all the bolts and it appears to be assembled ok, A word of warning please ensure you have the table on a even surface and be careful when you lift the sides.
