UPDATE:
YAHOO!!! :j Just checked status of my orders online - the Dimension 3000 has been dispatched (that was quick!!) and the laptop order no longer exists (I've had 2 emails confirming my cancellation).
SO - I have a P4 2.8GHz machine with a 17" TFT being delivered for £233.81 (although my bank haven't confirmed the price being charged to my card yet).
Last day for doing this is 18th so anyone brave enough to try this too will have to do it before midnight tonight.
Mega thanks to IWANTITNOW for the tip!:money:You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

How did you cancel the laptop? I mean, did you just email them or is there a facility to cancel orders in your "My Account". Is there a time limit for cancelling? I have never used Dell before (but am sorely tempted after reading this!) so excuse my ignorance.
Ooh! forgot to ask...I want a PC for my young 'un but it's a bit early for their birthday (November) or Xmas. Do Dell make these slip ups often or is it not likely to happen again? This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

How did you cancel the laptop?
I haven't had ANY other communication about the Dimension 3000 telling me they are increasing the price, or to tell me it has been dispatched, but their website says it's been sent to the couriers. I am hopeful that this means I will get the PC for the £233 my order confirmation says.do i need a soundcard in the desktopYou don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

Haven't taken delivery of it yet - its sitting in a depot in Coventry waiting for them to contact me with a delivery date.
