You can do it, but there's no extremely easy way of doing it. Probably the easiest way is to go to
http://www.dell.com/dhs/globaltagtransfer
after 4pm, using Internet Explorer, and keep trying until it accepts it.
Once it's been successfully done you and the new owner should both receive an email confirming the transfer, and it should take less than 24 hours to happen
Good luck! Thanks to all who post constructively.

pepperoni wrote:...and that is why the whole deal is cheap, because you'll be looking at Dells standard £57 to ship it back to you and that's after you've paid £17.63 to ship to NI (and that's only insured cover for £100)(parcel2go)
Surely if it is faulty they cannot charge for shipping it back to you after repair ?WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?

can anyone find me a good deal on a dell laptop for my father in law
had an email from ukfrenzy saying laptops from 421 pounds but i cant find that offer on site? You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
I,m thking of getting the dell 3000 for £340 ( p4 3.0) but would it be worth spending a bit more to get 5100 (I worked out it will cost me £50 extra for roughly the same spec)?.0
-
It depends what you want, and what your intentions are long-term. The 5100 would be more upgradable later on, but if you won't want to play the latest games or run anything too intensive the 3000 should be fineThanks to all who post constructively.

Is it worth buying a 3000 system - just for the components i.e to purchase a better spec case and m/board and pilaging the dell system of the valuable bits.??
monitor keyboard processor memory h/drive etc
Any thoughts savings monkeys?Watch out for Freddie the Fox at the Shay !!0 -
Dell components aren't always compatible with products from other manufacturers, so tread cautiouslyThanks to all who post constructively.
