I got one of the Dell TFT 17" value monitors in the last round of megadeals and it's OK. Took some getting used to as the white is VERY bright! So watching MSE forums in a dark room really gets at your eyes after a while.
But I also play online games and although it doesn't seem to be the 16ms response Dell claim it is, it's still pretty impressive and I manage to hold my own in Counter-Strike Source, so it can't be that bad. If you can get one of these screens for less than £100 I'd say it was a good deal.

Well considering I bought Dell 8400 3ghz P4, ATI 128mb X800SE PCI/E, 160GB hdd, CDRW + 17" CRT for approx £540 delivered free 12 months ago. This doesn't look too good. I think you could do better. I take it this is 1 year warranty? Looking @ spec above and mention of 5100 documents I'd say thats far too much. I'd never upgrade package for DVDRW drive for a start. If that is what I think you have there. £60 can be spent more wisely elsewhere. £30 on web can get you a DVDRW drive. Even upping standard CRT screen for FST loses money when compared to selling CRT and buying FST off WEB.

On board memory data @ 64bit this kills performance big time. Best look for some thing that has 256bit memory data path along with 256bit controller data width this avoids bottlenecks!

That's a pretty impressive machine for just £523 and includes a full 1 year CAR warranty. I reckon you'd only get better prices than this from Dell when they have a misprice. You certainly couldn't get a better machine than this out of PCWorld.

Personally though I'd pay the extra £23ish and get a 256Mb X600 graphics card with this.
