btw i'm going to uni in september and i'm probably gonna get the x-n08603 upgrading the monitor to WSXGA+ and the 128 mb graphics card all for £726 heh and my dad's paying for the first £700 so £26 ain't bad for a pretty good laptop, i'm probably gonna buy an external hard drive and extra ram myself though
For about £750 you can get a very good Evesham or Acer laptop with some good feaures, like a better graphics card.
The Acer is the Aspire 5021 (£755): http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_5021WLMi_LX.A4605.055/version-2.asp
or the Aspire 1691 (£700):

The Evesham machine is the Quest Roma (£750):

Also have a look at the Dell which I posted today for £609 with a free Dell printer."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -

there's a Dell Inspiron 1200 at £399 incl. VAT and delivery. The number is N08125 which shows as £434 but if you change the warranty down to 90 day C&R it comes in at £399.0 -

I am actually starting from the Dell you posted as a base unit except i'm upgrading the monitor up to WSXGA+ and the graphics card as i said heheh
Ahh i'll have to ask my friend because i'm not so good at picking these things and they do all look pretty similar heheh
Edit-I just remembered the Dell deal includes a laser printer as well so i think it works out as a better deal even if the others do have better graphics cards, i'm not going to be playing the newest games anyway!
Oh but thanks for the suggestions still! ^_^0 -
dell are shipping me a new windows xp home instalation cd
do these come with the COA certificate of authenticity
as these sell for a decent price on ebay0 -
Hi Jimmy,
That looks like a nice laptop, laser printer will be useful too but i think its too expensive for me at the moment! There is a good looking laptop ( http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-Aspire1692WLMi_PM750_1800_512MB_80GB_WXP ) in tesco for £750 which i may be able to ask someone to get 10% off.
One thing to clear up though, which intel processor is the best?0 -

Finally I have found something useful to contibute
I have just bought a laptop from dell and upon receipt decided I didn't like it. I rang to ask where to return it too and they offered me a free 3 yr warranty and a free printer to go with it. No good for me as I don't want the laptop but if you're happy with your puchase it's got to be worth a try0 -
Ooo, maybe you could get the additional bonuses then I can purchase it from you ?
Feel free to ask your price !
