Well sparkymarky there may be a half truth in there, but honestly, if anyone has any suggestions..

What do you mean by 'not too expensive'? It's often worth keeping a lookout on the Dell Outlet. The Dell 5100 is probably the best for expandability.
  • I had an email news letter/offer from Dell today. If you use this coupon code

***code removed by Board Guide (please see here for explanation) ***

Dell say you'll get an extra 5% off selected Dimension desktops. That's on top of the money off and free printer. Offer valid till 10th August

I haven't tried it because I've already bought. But if you're about to buy it may be worth a try. If it works please let us all know.

Too expensive than last weeks offers (£70 off with other offers). Today i tried an unsuccessful attempt to get this 5% on my last weeks order.

Call centre executive also tried to escalate this to her superiors, but they came back with figures that i've already saved £150 than current offer. (Dimension 9100+940 printer)

Hi i am going to uni this september and need a good quality laptop.
I usually have lots of Videos and music on my computer so i guess i need a fast processor and lots of space. I understand speeds and everything on desktop computers but not on laptops. What is the difference between Intel Centrino and Intel Celaron M?

Anyone with any suggestions of what i should get?

Any good deals on the Dimension 5100 Searcher 2? I find it a maze to work around the Dell site.

Centrino is a Pentium M processor bundled with 855 chipset and Intel Pro/wireless, while Celeron is just a Pentium M processor with a lower cache and probably uses a bit more power.

btw i'm going to uni in september and i'm probably gonna get the x-n08603 upgrading the monitor to WSXGA+ and the 128 mb graphics card all for £726 heh and my dad's paying for the first £700 so £26 ain't bad for a pretty good laptop, i'm probably gonna buy an external hard drive and extra ram myself though
