but do you think a better deal will come along by the end of this month? Would they have bnk holiday specials on 27th/28th/29th august??

No-one knows! If people did know what was going to happen in the future think about the possibilities!

Dell do have a habit of bringing out loads of deals all the time.

Also remember because of the fast pace of technology better speced machines come out all the time.

Yes that's a good system for the price.
What value code did you use?
Where was the 5% discount from?

My XP Cd arrived and DIDN't have any COA with it!! :(
But still worth ensuring Dell send you them, as well as all the driver CDs. Mine came in FOUR different envelopes by courier - what a waste! Dell could have sent them 1st class recorded for about £2.
Specs78 - £605 for that machine is a pretty good price - couldn't see PC World doing anything that cheap for that level of kit.

The PC was one of the "deals" that they do from time to time. The offer has now finished, and yes, I did add the 5% discount as well (the code was at linemypocket.co.uk) I wish someone would have told me it was a good idea before the offer finished though

It's hard to tell someone if a deal is good or not. The spec of the machine was good for the price.... but do you really need a hi spec graphics card, 1gb RAM and 250Gb hard drive? If you don't then it's not a good deal for you. The key to getting good deals with Dell is to find a Value Code that suits you. Personally I don't like the Dell value monitors particularly so managed (last month) to find a code that gave me a base unit without the monitor and bought myself a good Samsung TFT and installed a graphics card and DVD writer of my choice.
