I think Dell will honour this.... it's not ridiculously under priced... just very very good value.
My original point was this -
When you enter the e-value code and it takes you to the Dimension 5100 page you'll see the following at the top of the screen just above the price "(D09516) Dimension 5100 3.0GHz"
Note the 3.0ghz because in actual fact the radio button for the processor is set to 3.4ghz (This is where I'd say the mistake is) and it's reducing this to 3.0ghz (The original spec that Dell no doubt intended) and combining it with the reduction in warranty brings the price down to £407 (Or £406.91 to be exact)
I agree e-value codes do allow for better deals but this system when priced up via a standard "customise and buy" comes to £859
Will be interesting to see what Dell do with all the orders anyway as it's not quite a 'blatant' mistake unlike some of the systems last week!!!
Fingers crossed...0 -
NickA - Yes - it's only a small mistake so I think they will honour it... Just as they did when they allowed £70 off each system a while back when you spent over £650 instead off the total bill. Good luck to all...and don't think too long. I think the free delivery ends tonight.0

How can it be a mis-price ?
When you customise and take it down to 3.0Ghz and remove the warranty it reduces the price just like any other Dell order.
I get this to £477 with XP Pro and X600 video card.0 -
Dell 5100 P4 3.0 HT 1Gig ram 250GB HDD 128radeon , 17 tft, DVD RW £407
Anyone reckon how much the base unit would be worth on its own? i.e. if you could get £320+ for the base unit it would be worth buying this package, selling on the base unit and you get a cheapish 17" TFT.
UPDATE: Just been checking the price of this spec on DABS - I reckon you would struggle to build an equivalent machine yourself for less than £500 WITHOUT the monitor!!You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

If you follow the links on the Dell site to the Dimension 5100s you see that the evalue code D09516 is meant to be £699 with 1 year CAR warranty. But when you select customise and buy and take the warranty down to 1 year it shows at £571 - and that is supposed to be for a P4 531.
This offer gives you a free upgrade to a P4 630 by taking a FURTHER £164.50 off the price!!
I reckon they have underpriced this machine by £292.50!
My wife has gone to bed so I'm going to order one of these!!You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

I make it £407 with 17 inch flat panel and 150 gig drive, sounds like a bargain to me. Have I got something wrong?0
