Thankyou all once again for your help

Your so right,i must take each day as it comes and not let this take over mylife as i am doing now(my house looks like something out of "Trainspotting"at the moment)

I just feel so alone in this,on my own, family all up North, did try talking to my friend but she has no idea what debt is and when she started going on about how stressed she was trying to organise a 3 month cruise in the summer for her and her family i made my excuses and left, got another mate but to be honest she seems to get off on hearing about how much debt yr in.
Im trying to keep it from the kids, they've been through enough after we fled from my ex.
On top of all this my brother killed himself 6 weeks ago, jumped off a block of flats he was only 32 ! i'm still trying to come to terms with that.
You know what i don't know what i would of done if i had'nt found this site.I know theres people on here in a worst state than me who owe more than me but i think its because of everything else going on in my life at the moment that it seems much worse.
I envie people who have a nice partner who supports them and helps them through the rough.

My daughter said to me the other day
"mum have you ever thought of going on one of them dating site's ?"
This made me laugh,i mean i was practically on the floor !
can you imagine my profile !

    40yrs old,2 stone over weight,4 kids,£15,000 in debt,oh and a violent ex who's trying to track me down.....lol what a catch !

Right off to finish making dinner, roast with all the trimmings, lovely sponge and custard and even a bottle of wine for me later and all for a FIVER ! bet know one can beat that !!

    Bye for now

Hi Sue! I am sooooo jealous. I will have veggie pasta bolognese - no pud - no wine and I am dying to have some chocolate!

    Hi Sue,

It will get easier and once you are on your way with the DMP it will be one part of your life you can put to one side and it will allow you to concentrate on everything else and getting your life back on track. I am very sorry to hear about you brother.

You are doing fantastic and I for one think you are a brave lady! Like you say take each day at a time and don't try to do too much at once. Once you have this DMP under way things on the debt front will seem far easier and it will be one less thing to worry about I can assure you.

£15K of debt isn't so bad and you are still young so can get your life back on track in no time!!

Keep posting here, there are loads of fantastic people and full of great advice not only in money but life aswell.

    Take care xxx

Nice to meet you Marru and Sue. Sounds like you're doing great on the old DMP front. Please be assured that it gets soooooooo much better a few months down the line. I get absolutely no contact from any of my creditors (I have several!) and my monthly payments are very manageable. In fact, it gets so much better that I find it easy to forget that I still have all this debt and that I should still be watching my pennies. Although that's not a good thing either, what I mean is that it doesn't really impinge in my life anymore, whereas before it was in my thoughts every waking moment (and most of my sleeping ones!). Please stick in there.

Sue - well done for getting where you are. Sounds like you've had one hell of a time of it. I understand what you mean about telling your friends. Mine are very similiar. I don't really talk about it with any one apart from you guys. I find people on here provide better support than any of my friends, because you know what it's like and don't judge. I'm sorry to hear about your brother. Time your time and don't rush those feelings. It sounds like you are being strong for everyone else, but please remember to find time for you to think and be happy.

I'm manless too - it rubbish, eh?! We should start a MSE online speeddating thread!

    Hi Sue

I'm so pleased you've come so far, take a look back at what you've been through in your personal life, compare those events to your debts, see, your debts are nothing really, stressful maybe, but nothing to lose sleep over, I know I say that like a pinch of salt, but you know what, my creditors got to me, but now I've revalued priorities in my life, and providing I keep up with my DMP, the creditors can't do that much to me.

They like to test us it's a question of showing how strong we really are, and considering what you've experienced in your personal life, these creditors are not that important.

Sometimes, one just wants to scream without saying anything, well, this is the place for it, I may be new here, but I'm just trying to get you to see, although your debts are of concern to you, what's the worse that can happen?

    evening everyone.
just wandering, my virgin credit card is in arrears and someone called RMA is asking for the money, the same applies to my mbna card where a company called GVI are asking for the money. do these people need a token payment or do i just send it straight to virgin and mbna?
    thanks

  • Evening all,

Well a nice quiet cheap weekend here with no threatening post or phone calls!

Only pain is we had our wing mirror bashed and the mirror smashed out of it when we were out Sat night - great!! Hope it won't be too expensive to fix.

Welcome Sue and Marru - sounds like you have both been through it a bit and I am sure you will find plenty of support here - I have only just joined and it has been great!
