Do you live in a mansion??? We have a two bed flat and on prepay meters spend £45 electric and £60 gas - I thought that was high!!working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Can I join the thread too??
I've been sorting my DMP out... As i have a really stupid pay sytem (i.e. being paid in the middle of the month with 2wks arrears and 2 wks in advance) I had to call the CCCS and delay my firat payment. Meaning (even tho all my creditors were informed of this fact) they are now calling and writing threatening legal action. I know they will be paid at the end of March but they aren't really listening! The problem will get worse as I am starting a new job wich is going to involve a £7k a year pay cut (no call for my current job and contract ending so going back to a worse paid but better job!) and I'm only going to get 9 days pay for April. Does anyone know how this will work? or if my creditors will refuse to take less and take me to court? Part of me wishes they would just get on with it and then it would all be legally sorted!!! Although the CCCS has been incredibly helpful in arranging everything and made me see that even if things do end up in court it isn't the end of the world lol!!Total Debt March 2008 - £9232.19  Virgin loans £5188.80, Halifax OD £2,456.94, Barclaycard £699.60, Virgin Credit card £532.25, Capitalone £354.60 (no idea as they refuse to send me statements now! updating figures as I get them!) Hello one and all,
Haven't posted on here for a while, but today I really need a rant! (Sorry)
I had two letters yesterday, one from RBS CC, and one from RBS old current account - both now on my DMP.
The CC one wasn't too bad - they're telling me that they can't accept my DMP because they haven't received my financial statement. That's fine, I can just print one from CCCS website and send it to them.
The one from the current account, however, has really got my blood boiling. I have an RBS loan, and a £500 overdraft with them. When I started my DMP I cancelled ALL DDs from that account (two months ago). RBS wrote to me yesterday to say that they tried to take my loan payment from that account at the start of the month (even though DD cancelled), and could not take the money because there were insufficient funds (no sh*t Sherlock!). Consequently the have levied a charge of £38 on to said OD for "work" involved! What "work" they mean I don't quite know. They have also threatened to withdraw use of my Switch card, which, if they bothered to look at thier records, they'd see hasn't actually been used for 6 months!
Thankyou, rant over!
Welcome Ailsajayne - CCCS are fab:hello: . Let the creditors threaten what they will. Just remember that being in debt is not a criminal offence. The worst they can do (excluding C Tax arrears) is slap a CCJ on you, but as far as I know the courts are normally quite favourable to those on DMPs. Remember, no matter how much they bully and harrass, you can only pay as much as you can afford. Don't be bullied into borrowing more money, and if needs be put your phone on silent, change your number, request to be contacted in writing only. Good luck with the move to CCCS, it was the best thing I ever did!LBM: 14.01.08 - Debt at 25.04.08: £7420.925.06.10: 3200.00 :T I'm over half way there!!! :j

Have you tried one of the utility regulators, a call to them may put your mind at rest.
Not sure if they can help, it's just a thought.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
HI,
You might want to put your post as a new thread in the utilities board and expecially in the sub board gas+electricity. There might be someone in the same situation than you who might be able to help.

Well I tried again with the catalogue company and missing payments....
Earlier in the week I rang and told them I was VERY ANNOYED that no-one could answer my queries - and got put through to a dead line!! Then rang back and explained I was even more annoyed about being put through to a dead line - and they gave me a phone number for "missing payments" - Hurrah - one step further!! :j
So the nice lady at Missing Payments told me which bits of info they needed from CCCS about how and when they make payment and then told me her name and said to ask for her and she would use that info to find out where to look for the payments.
So next week (coz they shut at 4pm) Hopefully someone will be actually looking for my 6 missing DMP payments :T - rather than saying it's the old system we can't see it

Makes you wonder if it would be easier to have a pre paid meter then they cant surprise us with huge bills.
We recently moved house and for some reason ended up with N power, they have been hopeless. Just got a letter today saying we will have monthly payments of 60 .00 per month for gas and electric (far too low a payment im sure)and will send us a bill 2 times in a year.
Imagine how much we must owe i am seriously considering having a pre paid meter so i know how much ive used and how much it costs“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -
Anyone having problems with Npower should check out the BBC Watchdog website they were on there on Monday about billing. You never know could help!0

Hey folks, it's Friday! Everyone appears to be busy again.
We've had no strange telephone calls today and no letters which is rather novel. I actually felt quite deflated that none of our new creditor friends have felt the need to contact us today
I expect there will be an avalanche tomorrow however.
We spoke to Payplan and apparently 5 out of 7 creditors prefer Daz, sorry, have acknowledged Payplan exist but 2 (Nat West/Lloyds, surprise surprise - said in my best Cilla voice) have not responded.
Nat West told us they had received nothing from Payplan which we know is a bit of a fib but they have said they will be passing us onto the in-house collection department and when that happens, they will stop adding interest.
Mind you, how long it takes for them to pass it over is another question!*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0
