Hello,i also recieved my DMP agreement today...im all geared up for the phone ringing constantly..im planning on not answering just doing everything by post. I was wondering if anyone had had phone calls at work, i dont think my OH could take the stress of them ringing him there?

Got a lovely statement today, £30 odd in interest charges (expected), warning of over limit fees next month (expected) - late fee charge... hmm. Now is this because they've changed the payment date, clever eh. Or because we aren't making the minimum payment at all?
This is Halifax by the way.

  • Mumzy - sounds like you are on the right track. Good luck getting it all set up - we have just done the same and it's good to get going tbh.

Madrocks - I suppose if your creditors have your work number they may use it but if it was me I would just say that it is not convenient to talk and could they correpsond via post from now on and NOT call again!!

Gemmzie - I am waiting for exactly the same from Halifax when our statement arrives in the next few days so I will be feeling your frustration!!

Should be fine - as long as it outlines your account number and current debt that's all they really need[

I'm a year in tinkerbell, was expecting the charges to return but not sure about the late fee - they've moved the date. Are they doing this legitimately or to try and get two payments this month?

  • Evening guys,

Just wanted to say that Halifax are the worst of my MANY creditors! They only accept the DMP for 3 months at a time and when the time is up they just keep the calls coming! If I answer they normally ask if I can borrow the money to pay them the arrears etc...I just laugh and tell them no and then they are rude, abrubt and have attitude to which I don't rise (very hard though!) and the cycle goes on...nightmare!

I can't wait for the day I am free of these creditors and starting the DMP was the best thing ever or I would be still be in this situation in 10yrs time I reckon!!
