Hi rayday
May I just confirm please, am I putting my a/c into dispute because I'm making a formal complaint?
That OFT website does take some understanding, I'm sure I'll get my head round it
Yes a formal complaint will put it into dispute and nothing should happen until that is sorted - you will get more information about where to go when they respond to you with that leaflet I mentioned. To be honest every time I have made formal complaints I have been happy with what happened. But do remember to copy Nationwide too.
You don't necessarily have to understand much where it gives you examples just think have they done that and if they have in your letter say what they did and that it went against this part of the OFT guidelines and then quote them.
What I am hoping for you is that they double track and think hang on they seem to know what they are talking about. Most the times these companies are trying to scare you so if you can scare them a bit back it won't harm.0 -
Good morning everyone. I hope you haven't been battered too much by the strong winds? (A fencing panel in our garden is flapping in the wind and may not last much longer!)
We had a delightful telephone call from Lloyds TSB last night.
Basically, they demanded the money we owe and when OH told them (again) we are on a DMP with Payplan, the guy said that didn't make any difference as they do not deal with third parties.
OH had to hang up after a few minutes as he was getting nowhere.
So, do we keep doing the broken record syndrome when they ring? i.e., we are with Payplan, etc.
It's wearing us down a bit now to be honest so any advice would be very nice :0)*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
Morning WhoopieDoodle, Lloyds can be pests but after a while of just saying 'thankyou for your call, please phone payplan as they are now managing my account' and hang up, they get the message. They phoned me more than anyone else. What you have to remember is that these 'people' don't know you personally and you have not commited murder. Try not to fret otherwise they will wear you down, basically they are just doing there job! Believe me you have done the right thing. Take care, every day gets better but sometimes you have to 'roll with the punches'.0

Hello Bigdi and thank you
)
Yes, Lloyds have been the most frustrating so far, with telephone calls on Sundays and evenings and now the getting nasty tactic.
We will do as you say and keep repeating ourselves .. (how I would love to say, "go boil your head!" How sweet that would be!)
It's strange, but a couple of the creditors have not contacted us at all. I wonder if this is the calm before the storm. I expect we will have to brace ourselves.
Thanks again and have a good day.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
Whoopie, they are all different. Half of them can't even get your name right. It's quite liberating to be polite and then hang up. Some of mine have never contacted me, I just deal with PP as I will after 9 am today to see if my final 3 creditors have agreed the DMP or not. PP have been a fantastic help to me, infact, they have changed my life - oh along with this board of course!0

WD - Lloyds were one of my creditors and after a bout of horrible phone calls with me in turn saying just as you have been 'with payplan...' etc they soon stopped and in turn they were actually one of the first to accept and stop interest straight away. I too had a horrible guy, threatening etc, I think they are too confident on the telephone and I am sure if they were speaking to you face to face they would be so aggressive.
I am sure you can submit a written letter of complaint if they keep harrassing you??
Good luck, it does get easier :-) xxx0 -
Thank you both
The words of support and encouragement are much appreciated and I know it's a cliche, but it does help to know we are not alone in all this.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
Lloyds were my longest for overdraft - 9 months it took them but they refunded all interest back and accepted the plan for a year, with payment book (bear in mind I am a DIY DMPer) and a case of wine.
Two credit cards were one of the first to accept.
No idea with the phone calls as I changed my phone number so never got one - loads of pointless letters though - one line ring this number. Don't let them get you down they are incompetant and liars - from above you can see they do deal with 3rd parties, they do accept DMPs and they are stupidso nah :P
Oh my maturity levels are very high when dealing with Lloyds!0 -
HI,
I get regular calls from Lloyds and I won't even let them go through the security check when I tell them that I have sent them two letters and one fax and I would appreciate if they would be courteous enough to reply to me in writing.
One guy told me to go to my nearest branch and get them to call them on my behalf. When I am ready to make the proper offers instead of just the token payments I will go to the branch to get my papers stamped by them and forwarded onwards. Then I can say that they have received my documents and I am waiting for reply.
Oh, remember also that LLoyds are sponsor of National Debtline (thanks RayDay) so you can always throw them that you are following the advice statet on their website.
Marru
PS they even sent me a text asking to call backguess if I did?
