Had another chat with LLoyds over the weekend whilst DH was about and they have agreed to our DMP :j Annoyingly tho, they claim that they had no info from CCCS (which I suspect is their shortcoming not the CCCS) but it did make me think that if I hadn't called them, this wouldn't have been sorted. I have to say that whilst CCCS are great, I do feel that I have done a lot of the work myself (not that I mind- it is my problem) but I'm beginning to wonder if I should have just done a self managed DMP - that way I could have paid NR what they wanted and avoided the CCJ that I am currently awaiting:mad: Just rather annoying that out of all our creditors they are the only ones being awful. Does anyone know how long it takes for you to hear about a CCJ once you have returned the N9A? We also completed the defence cos they had included some arrears which we had already paid.

Back to LLoyds - they told me that they couldnt stop interest and would be charging me £90 per month on my o/d:eek: - we'll see about that! Apart from anything else their letter said the APR on unauthorised o/d's is 12.29% (which it is techincally now as their charges put me over limit! ) but that APR only equates to £60 per month anyway! Going to write a letter of complaint to them. I dont mind paying a little interest as that way they still make a bit out of me but I will be reducing the debt (dmp payment to them is £110) I don;t really understand why the banks get so arsey about o/d - they are quite happy for you to max it out every month when your salary goes in, but the don't want to accept regular payments to reduce it - well i guess I do understand - it doesn't make them as much money does it?

Oh can someone please help me. SIster is doing my head in. She contacted PayPlan in February with a view to starting a debt management plan. However she had 2 creditors (Welcome & Black horse who she hadn't made any payments to). She was advised by Payplan that she has to make at least one contractual payment of the full amount after which she can make two token payments and then commence her DMP. She has an e-mail from PayPlan stating this as they said that 3 months must lapse after the loan was taken out before she could commence a DMP. She made full payments to both creditors in March, two token payments in April and May and sent off her paperwork to PayPlan beginning of June to commence DMP on 1st July. She also sent a token payment on 1st June to all creditors just to keep up to date.

Yesterday PayPlan contacted her to say that the DMP couldn't commence yet as 3 FULL contractual payments had to be made to Welcome & Black Horse. Now to get up to date on these payments and to commence the DMP as planned she'll need to find £600 (money which she hasn't got). Can anyone suggest what she can do. Have got 2 explanations off PayPlan and don't know which one is right.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    GRx

    Hi girlracer.

Don't really know what to suggest if your sis has had two different explanations from payplan. The only thing I can think of is to give cccs a call instead and if they can help then get her to do it straight away.

Keep getting her to try though, the sooner someone offers help the sooner you and her can stop worrying. It would be lovely if everything was straightforward and stress free wouldn't it?!

    Hi all,

Well CCCS replied and said it was a mistake - that there should have been a note put on my file and it hadn't gone on, so that's why I got the letter. So all is well on that front.

But First Direct must have my letter where I said - go on default me then if it means interest will stop.... coz they rang last night... left an answerphone message for me to ring them as soon as possible AND sent a text saying ring them urgently. Erm actually, no I won't. They can write to me like they did last week, which reminds me- just put me phone onto silent :p

I am sure that last time Martin was on GMTV discussing this topic, he said that if you are experiencing financial difficulty, then the banks have to look at your case straight away irrespective of the current test case decision and can't just "put it on hold". Might be worth some further investigation.

Would "financial difficulty" include being on a DMP? I need to work out how much I can try to claim in charges but if I can claim financial problems because I'm on a DMP then I might get something paid back earlier.

And to offset the fact I need a dishwasher I applied for another job to do alongside the job I am doing it don't start till September is practically doing what I am now and £9.97 an hour - more than I get paid now! Term time only 4 hours on a Saturday morning.

Well I rang First Direct. Apparently the message that I'd rang to notify them wasn't put on my file and "this time" they will waive the reduced payment and let it continue

Shame. I was hoping for a default and them stopping the interest (it's only 6% but the only ones charging me still).

Can anyone tell me if it is worthwhile writing to debtors who have started whacking interest on again. This is our sixth year on DMP through CCCS and a coulpe of ours have started adding on considerable interest so much so that most of the payment is going to interest and not reducing the balances.

I appreciate that we have had a long time without it but this isn't really helping since we are not due to complete our DMP until 2013 officially.

I think its a couple of letters if you don't write them you will never know if it would have worked or not. Bit of a case of got to be in it to win it kind of thing.
