Hi all, help needed please !!!!

After having a quite and not too bad couple of weeks whilst waiting fro the DMP to kick in officially, have had a really PANTS day!

I spoke to Goldfish 2 days ago, (after receiving around 4 calls a day from them)to say we are with Payplan (told them this 2 weeks ago and they said calls etc would stop for 30 days)!

Anyway, they have called me a grand total of 8 times today! Calls stared @ 9am. I spoke to them at lunchtime when I left work and told them AGAIN we are waiting for their balance that PP had requested and once received PP will send them a SOA to hopefully get the DMP underway.

There response was....they have had nothing from PP, which I know is not the case,( but how can I prove this)? They then went on to say PP are doing me no favours at the moment as interest etc.. is accuring and PP can take up to 8 weeks to sort things out, and with no disrespect to me, they only have my word that I have contacted PP, I could be lying!!!

Anyway...(still with me)....to stop a default and letters for the next 30 days, I could make a payment of £45 now. I said I would need to contact PP and get back to them tomorrow, I know the are going to call me again tomorrow. Now heres the really good bit, after this lengthly conversation with them, they called again 1 hour later:eek:
I am at my wits end with them!!!!

Now, I am worried what to say to them tomorrow, if I pay the money I am then worried that they will expect this each month and I know the payment PP have suggested to them is lower, so my insinct is to tell them I can not pay, just really scared and worried of their reaction!

Also, came home to horrible letter ie, you have not paid ( I did, but just token payments) and to stop defaults, I need to pay £.......
One letter, (I know a standard, but still horrible) said if you are with a Debt Managment Co and on a plan or IVA this may not stop you going to court or being made bankrupt

I know these are all tatics and standard, but I feel like a pile of pants tonight!!!

Sorry to go on, but just wanted to get it of my chest and a bit of advice

    Thanks for listening / reading

I am popping out soon, so if i do not reply immediately, i am not being rude, just not around for a bit

Hi, the first payment can be made a little late. I think I was told as long as they get it before 10th then it would be ok for a first payment.

If you are checking the online details as to whether your money got there, that is always slow to update - takes days to show up - even when paid by Direct Debit. Best ring them and check if they got it ;)

Well, I've called the bank and they've said the payment has gone through and I've had a message from cccs today that they have not received it. I've messaged them back and hope that they'll accept my bank statement as proof that I've paid. What d'you think? I really want to start getting people paid off and this isn't a good start to the process.

i would tell them to chuff off - you have completed a SOA with CCCS which clearly shows what you can afford, tell them to be fair to all your creditors all payments will come from CCCS - i would also tell them you will only commincate in writing and ask that they remove you number from their database

im just starting with CCCS also and from what i can gather the first few months are hairy with calls and letters - but im assured it will get better!!!

Angel Cake, take a deep breath and relax.

Do not pay them anything. These sharks always claim not to have heard from CCCS/Payplan. It is what they do.

As for the Defaults don't worry about them. They are inevitable anyway. Its really not that bad they default you and probably pass you to a DCA. You still owe the money, you pay the payments through your DMP and the interest stops.

JVic28, have you checked and double checked the sortcode and account number you used for CCCS? Just check it. You may have missed a digit or something. Have a look. If that doesn't show up anything contact your bank and ask them for advice.

Mazda, I'm sure you probably can change to Payplan. However it would be a serious load of hassle getting creditors to agree all over again.

Mazda123 - Yes you can change just give Payplan a call. A car is a secured debt (assuming it's on HP) so will be treated as a priority. However don't be surprised if you get questioned about it - Payplan did ask me for a justification of why I'd bought a car so soon before my DMP started, but I honestly didn't realise the mess I was in and as I do 25000 miles a year just for work, I really needed it.

Angelcake - Try not to worry. You can't pay what you haven't got so just stick it out. Ignore the calls or let them go to answerphone. And just keep up with the token payments - they are just trying to get money out of you and I doubt whether they would really stop the calls. I know it's easy to say don't worry - I know that I had a few sleepless nights, but at 4 months in (touch wood) everything is going fine now. I found that my good creditors would accept my payplan details and token payments and would keep their promises not to call. Others just try to get every penny they can regardless of whether they have to tell lies to get it. Hope it settles down for you soon.

No should be fine - mine was 4 months before my DMP started. So long as you've not gone over the top and just bought something reasonable that fits your needs then I would hope they'll be ok with that. (So I hope you didn't buy an Aston Martin :D)

In my case I needed a decent sized estate car or I couldn't work - They did take all the details of when the HP finished etc so that they could up my DMP payments at that point and said that it would be a condition of my DMP that I did, but they've never put that in writing + I think that's fair enough anyway.

Not a Mazda is it by any chance?

Some good news from me. We got a really nice letter from MBNA accepting our DMP. I rang them up because they seemed to be under the impression it was starting this month and asked them if they minded me making a £5 token payment this month and the very nice man said yes that would be fine. The only thing that is slightly worrying is they said that if payment is not received by the 6th of each month they may take action. The man on the phone said it would be ok if it was a few days later but CCCS told us that payments could take up to 20 days to go through. How quick do the payments normally go through or does it vary? Also the man on the phone said as long as the payments are made regularly every 30 days there shouldn't be a problem.

    Hi Just Me,

I'm in the process of setting up with cccs and they told me that payments would reach the creditors on the 25th of each month so I don't know how well that will go down with mbna. I suppose they should be grateful for any money really.

I've got an Alliance and Leicester credit card which mbna took over a while ago so I hope they accept my dmp, I'm waiting for my creditors to accept dmp, none have been in touch yet although halifax ring every hour with a stupid automated message saying that if it's me that picks up the phone then 'press 1 to speak to an advisor' so far I havent I'm just plucking up the courage but dont feel strong enough yet!

You are showing willing with mbna so I can't see it being much of a problem, especially if you are making another token payment to keep them sweet!

    Good luck!
