Hi everyone - not been around for a while. Just wanted to let you all know that our DMP is up and running and the first payment has gone out to all of our creditors. All quiet really except the dreaded LloydsTSB . Barclaycard have accepted the DMP reduced payments and reduced the interest to 8%, Tesco and Egg have sent default notices. Not heard from MDSW at all and then there LTSB - what a pain in the jaxy that lot are! In a month we have written over 6 letters and then this morning we get their request for a budget plan - which CCCS would have sent them well over 6 weeks ago - anyway, and here comes a question - they have asked for our new bank details - is that right? if we give them to them will they try and take money from us? we're going to fill it in and not enter those details (or new phone number). While we're at it and as they've sent us a prepaid envelope (which they are more likely to actually open and read) we're going to resend copies of everything we sent over the last few weeks as well - We can but try I suppose
.
All in all so far stress levels are decreasing and as the weeks tick by we're finding we don't think about the debts so much. So, A REALLY BIG :beer:THANK-YOU to this site and everyone in the DMP thread for giving us the courage to go for it and tackle our debts head on :rotfl:
Oooh! forgive me for being so excited but since writing this - this morning my husbands LTSB cc statement has come through and although they haven't actually written to us I can see just by looking at it that they've accepted the DMP payment AND reduced the interest - Yee-Ha!! There really is light at the end of the tunnel - even where LTSB are concerned xxx

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well. I'll shortly be coming up to my first year DMP Anniversary in September with CCCS, but I need to really do a budget review now and I'm wondering how my creditors may react.
My income has reduced slightly due to taking a car option, which does mean that I'm better off in the long run but but I'm still trying to sell my old car  - which is really tightening my budget at the moment! If I could sell the car everything would be fine but not having much luck.
My mortgate is also due to go up by £250 (per month) from June and due to the amount of debt don't think it is wise to move it just yet - also by the time you've paid the fees it's a no win situation.
One piece of good news is that I will have cleared a loan by the end of June - once my cashback comes through from TopCashback :T
I'd just be interested to hear if this has happened to you and how have creditors reacted.
Thanks all - feeling a little glum0 -
Hi I am a newbie on here, I have been reading the posts over the past week or so and finally got in touch with payplan at the end of this week. They have advised a DMP to pay back the £27,417.95 I owe to creditors. My OH is aware of my plans and is supportive but I have a query relating to joint debts as I wanted to keep him out of the DMP as all but one debt is my own.
So, if you have a joint loan paid by DD out of husbands sole bank account included in the list of creditors, what happens with this. Am I liable for the whole loan? Will be husbands credit rating be affected by the proposals re. my own DMP and this loan being on there? And finally will this have an affect upon his bank account- the loan is from NW and his account is with YB. I am just a bit troubled by it all really.Any advice would be gratefully received.
Great forum by the way :T0 -
Hi Guys.
I need a bit of advice please as I'm even more peeved with the twits at Churchwood! I requested names/addresses/references and balances of all my creditors (as it was 3 years ago that I started my DMP they have all the paperwork). Well....they have only given me the names and ref's saying they can provide no more as it is for 'their business purposes only'.
I need to contact my creditors while payplan take over, so I can pay them this month, but I'm not sure what to do. I've e-mailed payplan, but probably won't hear back yet, so need to know if I can go back to Churchwood and what do I say to them?
If anyone deals with any of the following, and you have an address for them, please please please could you PM them to me. (I'm just never sure if the address that comes up on google is correct!!?)

Thanks guys. You're all lovely.

Hiya all
im doing my own dmp, and finally today had a call from barclycard who are also dealing with my complaint for non responding to my initial letter for assistance.
I was told by the guy that if i could increase my offer by 2.00 a month he could arrange for interest and charges to stop and set up for 6 months minimum, now cos the interest is more than my monthly payment and ive been stressed with the mortgage arrears, i went with my gut and accepted but i was also awaiting on the responce from my complaint.
Not sure if ive done wrong, im normally so good at sticking to my guns, but i answered the phone and got involved in trying to get a good result for me,
i can find the 2.00 extra just 2.00 less to my mortgage part. However, i dont want it to affect the rest of my creditors , its only 2.00 but i felt i had to make the best call in stopping the interest and further charges.
What do the rest of the guys think who do their own dmp, guess might have been different if gone via paypal or cccs.
would appreciate your thoughts, its been one hell of a week, when facing possesion order but pending my complaint being resolved all due to the arrears and situation my mortgage company have been party to - do not want to discuss this further due to the legal implications.
I felt at least i could win another small battle before the war with my mortgage company - just so exhausted but im trying to remain positive, normally am so pro active etc, but today the enornous legal implications just hit me Very sorry for such a long and difficult post.
Thanks for listening, guess will be better tomorrow, my hope is always somehow lit inside of me, just lost it a little today thats all
look forward to your thoughts, thanks and ciao for now MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Evening all.. If I may, I have a question..
My OH is in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS for his debts of approx £30k (all run up before I was on the scene).
About 6-7 months ago, in a bid to stop his over-the-limit overdraft swallowing up all his salary, he got his employer to pay his salary into my old current account (it's a Nationwide FlexAccount and I was still using the e-Savings element of it). We have set up direct debits for some of his monthly payments and for others we make the phone calls on payday to pay with my debit card - he gives their security details, I speak to them with my authorisation and card details.
When he sends back the agreement to CCCS and send off the "I'm on a DMP" letters to his creditors, I cancel the DD over online banking, yes? I've also read that I should perhaps cancel my debit card and get a new one, so that they can't take the payments using card details which they might have held on to without my authorisation.. Is there anything else I need to do?
He does now have his own bank account (old Lloyds TSB one which he revived after finding the old cashcard). Should he change his mortgage and hire purchase direct debit (not including in the CCCS DMP, I understand) to his own account and get his salary paid to that? We're in the process of getting my name on the utility suppliers accounts and then putting them on DD from my account which is fine. Will operate as a joint account, despite Nationwide twice failing to reply to my request to have his name put in the account!!
Am I getting this right so far!? I'm the one who has been reading MSE for months and found out about the existence of DMPs and persuaded him to look into it. Don't want to fail now!
Thanks all0 -
they have asked for our new bank details - is that right? if we give them to them will they try and take money from us?
Hi Indeep. I've been asked several times to send my bank details to certain of my creditors. I've never complied. I'm with CCCS and, all the relevant personal financial details are held with them. They, send whatever is required to the creditors in the breakdown at the start of your DMP or, when it is reviewed and the amount payable changes. One of the key objectives of any creditor phone call or certain letters is to obtain as much personal information about you as possible. For obvious reasons. The more they know about you the better their line of attack. There be those who disagree with me Indeep, but from my persective I only partake of personal data via the CCCS, nothing and nobody else!0 -
Cloudnine, I take absolutely the same approach. As far as I am concerned I am playing my part by paying my debts through the DMP and PP hold all the required facts, admin details anyone needs to know. I always refer onto them.0

Hi All,
Hope you are all having a good weekend?
Well just got back from hols - I was quite worried about going as it was all paid for before I started my DMP. So I scrimped and saved and ebayed and managed to get some spending money - Anyway my new outlook on budgeting seems to be working well - When you take into account what I normally spend on Petrol and Food per week - I spent LESS on holiday and actually ended up bringing money home:j - Of course that doesn't take into account the cost of the holiday, but that was already paid for in the past.
Anyway as I travelled back I was starting to worry about what post might be waiting for me but even that wasn't bad. 3 more debts transferred to DCA's but also 3 confirmations from the DCA's that they would stick with the current arrangement :T and 3 letters for my neighbour (obviously the postmans had a bad week:rotfl: )- that was all!
A quick scan around my online accounts shows that it looks like egg have stopped adding interest this month - so apart from 2 that I still haven't heard from after 3 months, that everyone (out of 15) now agreeing to stop. The only ones that haven't are good old LloydsTSB  , but I have a letter here stating that they have!!! I shall give them a call tomorrow (or maybe Tuesday as I have the day off tomorrow and don't want to spoil it talkng to Lloyds)
Anyway - 10 pages of posts to catch up on on this thread alone, so I best get reading.
PS Sorry about all the smileys, just feeling really chilled and can now see the DMP really working - haven't felt so positive in years.LBM : March 2008

Hi all,
Bit annoyed this weekend. got a letter from CCCS saying they were concerned I hadn't paid my full amount in May and needed to pay the rest of the money or the creditors may start charging interest
1. I decreased it for a one off payment after THEY suggested it
2. THEY told me it shouldn't be any issue as I'd not missed one payment in a whole year.
3. THEY take the money by Direct Debit so to have amended the DD amount they can't claim they didn't know about it
I'm so annoyed at them at the moment. Feel like I can't win.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
