Just a quick question for all of you who have been on DMP for a couple of years
All my creditors have accepted my DMP with CCCS for 6 months ,northern rock for 12 months what happens after this time if your circumstances do not change do i get letters from my creditors saying the agreement has ended ?

Do the creditors just keep extending for another 6 months ?

Hi Carlos, one of mine (mint loans) only accepted for 6 months. After those 6 months they rang me up to ask me to pay more, which I said I couldn't. They asked for an up to date income/expenditure list so I referred them back to CCCS who had this. They then send me a default notice and I haven't heard another peep from them - they are still getting the same amount and nothing further has happened - and I've now been on the DMP a full year.

That's all I know about so far. They didn't even tell me they'd only accepted for 6 months until the time was up and they rang me!

    Hi

We are away on holiday Monday for 2 weeks and I need to send my first token payments to some creditors as my local Citizens Advice Bureau is sorting out my payment offers.

Can anyone please advise me of the best way of paying them as I don't have a cheque book.

    Thanks

Hi Crysta, you will need to get Postal Orders to send to the creditors.

Enjoy your holiday, try not to worry while you are away, you'll come back refreshed, stronger and able to deal with your debts :D .

I was recommended by CCCS to send token payments by Postal Order, i've just recently sent ours and they cost around 88p.
I had five so they just asked the ammount and if i would like it crossed (meaning only a bank can cash it) or uncrossed (meaning anybody can cash it at any post office) Then left me to fill in the payee section. You then get a receipt with a code on which you can check to see that it has been cashed.
Then sent it recorded delivery although address was a problem as everything we seemd to have has a diffrent PO BOX number.

    Regards G

    Hi Crysta

For my LLOyds TSB CC i just sent the token payment to the usual address printed on my statement. I can't remember where I sent the payment for the loan but thik the branch would be ok, so long as it has your loan account number on it.

On the subject of Lloyds, I called them again today and actually had a very sensible conversation with them. Rather annoyingly they still deny receiving any proposals from CCCS, but said that they would go through details with me on the phone and set up an agreement :j . So did that and he said that they would increase my o/d limit so that the charges they are going to add at the end of the month won't incur further over limit charges. In an ideal world I would like these refunded, but didn't want to bite the hand feeding me. However, after 30 mins on phone, he then realised that DH also has a loan account, and said we needed to do the agreement together so would both have to phone at the same time. Bit aggrivating as you can never guarantee that the next person at LLoyds will say the same thing, but hopefully it will be fine.

Then called Egg as had heard nothing from them about loan account and they said that they had accepted plan too :j

So apart from horrible, nasty, vindictive Northern Rock, (can't someone just drop a bomb on them? Not with anyone inside obviously but just to wipe out all their records!) So we are just about there with all creditors (really pleased with Lloyds as they account for almost half the debt)

Also got Glamour mag this morning (subscription was a xmas present) and it came with a fab full size Benefit lipgloss in exactly my colour - how chuffed was I?:D

Have decided to make CCCS payment today (should still get there by the 10th). it will leave us very short but with all these agreements I just can't face trying to reduce the payments. Just going to have to get a job(ANY job - although that's no always so easy - applied to Asda who said "thanks but no thanks"!:p ) Saw a couple in paper yesterday, one being for Youth Support Worker which I really like the sound of and the pay's not too bad either! Going off now tio give them a ring and will let you know how I get on. Good day so far so here's hoping.

BTW RAYDAY I have a labrador and remember when she was little - gorgeous but chewed the house to bits- sorry! Saw some pups the other day too and was sooo tempted!

    Hi

Had meeting last friday with CAB and was told to hand in all balances of our debts and then they will finalise our financial statement and write to all creditors with a pro-rata offer of payment. I did this on Monday morning but have still to receive my tax Credits award notice. I phoned them on Friday pm to see what we would get each month, (the amount has actually increased for the 1st time :j ) and I let my caseworker know of the amount. I have just phoned tax credits again and the award notice has only just been sent out today !!!!!

Will my caseworker still do our financial statement without this ? Its just that we've not heard anything from her. I have my latest bank statement and the amount is on that, so perhaps this will do.

I have written letters this morning to all our creditors and am sending token payments tomorrow as we go away on Monday for 2 weeks and am absolutely petrified of coming home to all the nasty letters. I am usually quite a calm person but a couple of the creditors have absolutley knocked the stuffing out of me !!!

Family have asked whats wrong (some know, some don't) but if I start to talk about it I just burst into tears, and how i'm going to be on holiday god knows. I only hope that once i'm on that plane the weight lifts off me. I'm going to have to start and eat something cos the bikini is gonna look ridiculous.

Does it ever get better, because I never thought I would feel so down and depressed like this......

    Huge hugs Crysta,

I don't know the specific answers to your tax credit question but someone else will.

I just wanted to say it does get better, read the posts on this thread on the 3rd June from some of us who have been on DMPs for a while, you'll see how much more balanced our lives are now we're not living on credit :j .

I'm on holiday next week too, the budget will be tight but it's important to keep a perspective on life and still be able to enjoy it even while we're paying our debts.
