    HI,

I just have to enter into this conversation:

    I :heart2: Labradors

Mine is now 14 years old lady but was she a terror when she was a puppy!

    Marru

Me too I am still smitten! I have a tiny baby pup lying on my foot asleep. He is 8 weeks old and in two days only two no1s in the house both on paper.

Destruction is limited because he has a cage in the house for night time (sounds terrible that but our rescue dog has had one for years and she chooses to go into it!)

The garden however is not so good - he has beheaded two pansys but they will grow again.

I am still waiting for more trouble but at the moment I have to stop myself prodding him so much as he sleeps a lot!

Really is one of the best things we have done for the family the girls are loving having a puppy and far too involved in the care of him. I have to stop myself doing bits because they take so long and let them be responsible.

Apologies to everyone for not being around much I have to learn a new routine to my day :rotfl:

    Hi again!

I just spoke to CCCS to finalise my details, I sort of guessed my income online and the details didn't quite match up after sending copies of my income, speaking with an advisor my DMP payment will go up to £169 a month from £104 but instead of paying over 7 years 10 months (I will be 37  ) it will now take just 5 years :T .

I have no problem with paying the new amount as before I would have still struggled to pay over £600 on my 5 debts so getting it down to £169 for me is a big big difference.

I have never defaulted a payment on any of my debts always paid on time and met the minimum payment so I am hoping this will all go in my favour when the time comes for the creditors to agree to my DMP proposal.

I have changed my home phone number too so the only way they can contact me is by letter. I'll find it easier that way people can say what they want over the phone you don't have proof of the conversation and I don't want to feel intimidated by anyone.

My first DMP payment is due on 1st July so that means I have a whole months money to myself over £1000  :D , I have never ever had that always lived on the overdraft and constantly worried about this money going in to pay this and counting down the weeks/days to my next payment in to get ahead.

It will be difficult, I'm not naive in thinking it wil be an easy ride but I think its down to the not knowing of it all, as I said before I have never defaulted on anything, up to date with priority debts but I feel so much better now than I did last week.

I just wanted to say to anyone who is feeling low, I cried the whole weekend fretting over this and that but I promise you when you take that initial plunge to get the ball rolling to manage your debts it is such a relief and that is the best feeling of all. NO amount of money can buy peace of mind, that is priceless.

    Good luck everyone :D

OK, I spoke too soon when I said no-one had complained about the reduced payment in May. First Direct have written asking for an extra £40 to make up the arrears and if not they will issue a final demand

I've written back explaining I informed them of the one off reduced payment, that it was on the advice of CCCS and that it wouldn't be fair on creditors to pay one in full and the others a reduced amount. I've also told them they are the only ones to have complained, the only ones to be charging me interest (although it is 6%) and that if issuing a default notice means interest will stop completely then I will actually be able to pay the debt back more quickly. So you don't scare me :p:p:p

Just wanted to ask if anyone else here has defaulted on their DMP, and if so, what happens then? I had one with CCCS, but had to stop paying it last year due to a combination of a short period of homelessness, plus being out of work then doing temping and having a very erratic income. As time passed, I just didn't get round to contacting them, and they never got in touch with me, despite having my mobile number and address! Now, one of the debts that was managed through the plan has been passed to a Collection Agency who have been quite reasonable, but I haven't heard from any of my other creditors! Of course, I'm worried they will all come knocking soon. I assume my original DMP will have lapsed, but I'm a bit worried about contacting CCCS as I'm not sure what the response will be!

The best thing you can do is ring them the worse they can say is they are not prepared to take you on again. If that is the case then you could try Payplan and see what they say. You must do something sooner or later though because you run the risk of getting CCJs

Thanks for that Rayday2, I did get a copy of my credit file just before moving house recently, however, there didn't seem to be any mention of my previous DMP on that. Mind you, I couldn't make head nor tail of it for the most part anyway! Anyone else been in this situation?

There is no specific thing on a credit report to say DMP - examples of mine are 3 months arrears, defaults or arrangments to pay so that is probably why you could not see it.

If you moved recently maybe thats why no one has contacted you and CCJs can be passed in your absence so please ring one of them up ASAP.

I don't like to worry people but where debt is concerned attacking it head on is much better than leaving it. Please don't take offence I just want you to be able to start tackling again!

Whoever you contact make sure your budget is what you can get by on to ensure you are able to keep up with payments in the future - costs have risen a lot lately.

No, no offence taken at all! You're very helpful, I'll head home tonight and see what paperwork from CCCS I can find and get on to them over the weekend. I'm a bit worried about budgeting though, as even though I've moved from London to the coast, my outgoings have actually gone way up! (Bl**dy train fares to work are so pricey). So I'll probably be able to offer even less money than I was originally. Eeeek!

Yes but put it into perspective at the moment you are paying them nothing!

I think everyone is noticing price increases so it is a story creditors are going to have to get used to hearing!

Let us know how you get on.
