Lloyds are a supporter of Payplan and are named on the website along with the other credit companies/banks.
We had problems with Lloyds at first but after receiving the "grey letter" I responded that we could not pay anymore than was being offered and they were ignoring Payplan which breaks the banking code etc.
Lo and behold, received a call from them last week (a very nice call by the way) agreeing to the DMP and freezing all interest etc.
So, hang on in there as they will accept eventually.*Official DMP Mutual Support Club Member No 147**Official DFW Nerd Club Member No 923*I have no idea what I'm talking about!0 -
Hi louietudor re your query regarding Monument. They are a nightmare to deal with as are Barclaycard (think Barclaycard own Monument but not sure). Monument harrassed me day and night from their obnxious US call centre. I finally got fed up with them and wrote a harrassment letter and the calls have stopped. They seemed to think that because they were calling from the US they didn't have to abide by UK law. I wrote to TS about them and got a grovelling apology from Monument!
Barclaycard just don't want to play nicely. They sent a doorstep collector round whilst at was at work yesterday, he's going to call again soon apparently. I'm not overly bothered as I know they have no legal rights and I'm on a DMP with CCCS and sought advice also from NDL, so complaint letters will be written all round as Barclaycard appear to have ignored every letter I've written to them although they were signed for so I know they were received.

Just goes to show the inconsistency - Barclaycard were absolutely fine with me. Accepted payment 6 weeks in. Then got a letter from Mercers (in house DCA) so asked why. They just said it was fine carry on with DMP. Not heard a thing since.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends hassle free. Only 1 letter this morning - statement showing that Capital One have stopped interest, but not PPI . Oh well it's a start.
So that's 2 out of 15 that have definitely stopped interest, 1 that definitely hasn't (Egg). 2 that still don't seem to have noticed my DMP! The rest I think have promised interest will stop but haven't yet stopped it. So not going too badly. 3rd Payment goes out on Tuesday.LBM : March 2008

It does show the inconsistencies. MBNA who are my largest creditor (10k approx) have been brilliant. Immediately stopped interested and I've not heard from them since February. I have heard of horror stories about them.
Cap One have been fine with me.
It's just Barclaycard/Mercers at the moment who are being the biggest bunch of *@!?@!! imaginable! They've denied receiving any correspondence from me and yet I have proof that everything was signed for so I will be sending that to them. Glad I've got the extra day this weekend to write my letters!
I've also had a couple that don't seem to have noticed my DMP - First Plus appear to be one but they are accepting the reduced payments despite telling me they have received no correspondence from CCCS.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Hi Guys, hope you are after a restfull 'quite' couple of days!
Just been out will sister and feel really proud, did not buy anything !!!
Anyway, came home from work yesterday to some horrible letters, took a deep breath and made phone calls (first time I had done this).
Barcalycard letter said they were handing my account over to Mercers. Amazingly when I called them, they were fine. Said the letter they sent had crossed in the post with a letter they recd from Payplan and to ignore the letter they sent! Said they have it on file we are dealing with PP and they have sent PP a balance and are now awaiting their proposals.
2nd call, called Goldfish (who have been ringing and texting me for 2 weeks and I have been ignoring). They took down PP ref number from me, said the calls would stop and they await contact from PP.
Was so glad I got up the courage to call, as I now have 2 less things to worry about this weekend.
Now I have made the phone calls, I feel a bit stronger about making more in the future. Advise to anyone - It was not as bad as I thought !!!
It does seems however Barclaycard are inconsistent. Will keep you all updated

It is really interesting reading these stories as we seem to have been incredibly lucky with all 6 accepting out payments and freezing interest (although Halifax ring every couple of weeks to check we can't increase payments! They rang at 9am this morning - Sunday and I got cross!)
I have a query about lowering payments though. We are having to buy a new car soon so payments will have to come down about £150 a month. Plus we are going to have to increase our fuel allowance by £50 per month cos our figure is unrealistic.
Has anyone else lowered payments and how have creditors reacted?? I can imagine the calls, letters and interest may all start again!! Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014) DMP Support Thread Member 154  DFW Long Hauler 116:grin: Official DFW Nerd Club 928- Proud to be dealing with my debts :grin:0 -
Hi Guys me again and in search of some more advice. I'm sorry I'm not a regular here but I'm not on a DMP but I'm trying to help my sister out. I feel as if I'm using you all a bit for your advice.....
Right sister in process of setting up DMP with PayPlan. She has debts totalling £33K and will be paying £103 per month to PayPlan. My question is this. She has a creditor (Asda Card) with an outstanding balance of approx £300, will she be allowed to overpay on this or would it be better to stick to the payment schedule PayPlan has gien her and save any extra she can.
My advice would be to save any extra money she can as if she were to pay Asda she'd be classing them as a preferential creditor. Am I right?0 -
We had a phone call off Halifax as well this morning, not that I answered it,as I`m showing them as much contempt as I can saying they`ve added nearly £500 in interest and charges since starting my DMP,this is despite me and CCCS writing to them each twice to stop all interest, all they have done is send me a stupid letter saying they will either put me on an informal plan or a formal plan, get my statement interest banged on again and a £12 late payment fee.
They are the only creditor nearly 4 months in who havn`t stopped interest.
But never mind as I woke up this morning feeling fine......"Life is short even in its longest days".0 -
Hi Girl Racer,
She would be giving them preferential treatment, which wouldn't go down well with the other creditors. So it would be better not to overpay.LBM : March 2008

I will find it easier to budget than DH. Yesterday he almost bought us a CD each but he knew I would have hit the roof (even though I really really really want the new Def Leppard CD).
Is it any good? Not really appreciated the Leps since Hysteria really, the odd track but not an album - if its back near Pyromania days let me know lol then I will waste some penniesOf course free delivery with cash back for no more than £7.99 :rotfl:
