Hi Skibadee you get lots of letters like that most the time they are a last push to see if they can squeeze more money out of you. There is nothing you can really do you have to stick to what you said you could afford otherwise you make your DMP figures look in accurate.0

If ever I was still having doubts about ringing CCCS and going down the DMP route........
I received a letter from A&L CC telling me they are basically freezing my CC due to my finances and not to use a card they had recently reissued.
Feeling very despondant.........Proud to be dealing with my debts

I don't think you are alone I suspect this year a lot of people will have their credit lines frozen.
My sister has never been late paying her card but never paid it off and Egg capped their card so basically they can't use it again.0 -

Forget despondant, just realise that you have reached this point a long time after hundreds of us here and some time before an awful lot of other people.
We all get to this point after a wake-up call, we all wake up and start doing something about it.
If you have not called CCCS yet, do it as soon as you can. It's not nearly as bad as you think it will be and you will feel the relief of making a positive move.
By everything I read here, once a DMP is kicked off (and I recall that you may not even need one according to CCCS) there are a few difficult weeks and then it all settles down and you get on with the rest of your life whilst the debts slowly diminish.
One step at a time.... make that call.0 -
I think if one of my creditors hadn`t put a cap on my cards I would probably still be spending like a crazy person, instead I`m now coping well and actually look forward to pay day and having abit of money to put into a saving account."Life is short even in its longest days".0

I had a CAP put on 4 different cards and that was what tipped me over the edge. I'm glad it did in a way. It made me face up to my problem and I didn't realise until then how big that problem was. It's still not very nice at the moment being only a month into my DMP, but since making that first payment it's quietend down a little.
So don't worry about the capping it seems to be happening a lot.LBM : March 2008
