Morning guys,
I spent a nice night sending token payments to my creditors. I used the template letter from Payplan and used cheques from my partners account, which has no connection to me financially, he let me use them lol. We then went for a walk at 10pm with the dogs to buy from stamps from Tesco Express, only to find they'd ran out. So, I said that I wasn't going home with the letters so we all walked to a garage 2 miles away to get stamps - I had to get them posted as it was an aim for the day! I eventually posted them at 11pm!!! Woohoo, now I just have to wait for the creditors to get them and respond, should be interesting.
I changed wallets this morning - using one that i've had for ages but just kept it in a drawer. I've put all my CC and old Debit Cards into the same drawer and put my new debit card in the wallet. It all looks strange having just one card instead of 6 CC!!
I have also been thinking of getting rid of my car and getting an older one whilst i'm on a DMP. If I did this i could halve my DMP to 3 years to clear £36k. The thing is i'm on an options plan and would probably be penalised, i need to weigh up the pros and cons - Any thoughts?
Hope you are all ok? I've got another day of GCSE coursework to mark, 40 more to do!0 -
Hi Rugby,
Don't really have enough info to be able to advise on your car but if it were me I'd wait and see whether or not your creditors accept your eventual pro rata payments or not before weighing it up.0 -
Hi Rugby,
That's determination walking 2 miles to get stamps. You should tell that to your creditors to prove your serious ;-)
Only you can weigh up the Pro's and Con's of the car. But don't forget that the older the car is, the more likely things are to go wrong. I used to run around in an older car and the fact that it had to be repaired now and then far outweighed the benefit of the cheap car. However I do about 25K a year so I'm not surprised it went wrong now and then!
Hope the marking goes well.LBM : March 2008

I'm not going to request CCA's from the company's that have accepted DMP cos I don't want to rock the boat - I think I will only do it with the ones who are difficult - LLoyds I hope you are listening? (all of my accounts - loans and cc were opened online and all before 2006)
Hi everyone
Loopylu -I have 2 loans with lloyds which i applied for online i wondered what you meant when you say (loans & cc were opened online and all before 2006 )
Does this apply to why people ask for CCA,s i am unsure what CCA are and why do people ask for them .I wondered if somebody could explain all this to me .
It is all quite for me i had no post on Saturday ,i am hoping it stays that way I just need lloyds CC to accept my DMP and stop interest now .0 -
Sorry the top paragraph was what Loopylu said0

Morning guys!
Haven't been on for a while as I've been galavantingNothing much happening on the old DMP front really, just same old same old, counting down til pay day!
Hope everyone is okay and has had an enjoyable weekend so far.
rugby - hello! I'd call the car loan/options plan company and get a quote for trading it in. All you can do is ask, then you have the facts and can make a decision. Well done on getting your token payment sent. Don't be disappointed if some of your creditors don't acknowledge them after all your hard work. Some might even claim not to have received them, but at least you can check your bank account to see if they've cashed the cheque ;o)
Well, like rugby, I have a mountain of marking to do. However, I've treated myself to a bottle of coke and have some lovely Thortons chocolates someone gave me to ease the pain!!
Have a good one and I'll call in later to say hi again.

Hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone who is on a DMP has the exact address for the following creditors. I have to send token payments in the morning and also CCCS have said they need the correct address's for them to send the paperwork to to start a DMP.
LLoyds overdraft
Lloyds credit card
Lloyds personal loan
Asda credit card
and Tesco credit card
Most of the paperwork i have has different addresses and i want to make sure the right department gets the info
many thanks0 -
Here is the address I have used for Lloyds cc:
Lloyds TSB Bank PLC Card Services
Essex House
Southchurch Avenue
Southend on Sea
SS1 2LB
Also here is their fax number [STRIKE]if[/STRIKE] when they say they haven't received your letter: 01264 832 046
I would think that when it comes to overdraft and personal loan you should address these to the branch you have the account with/that gave you the loan. I have my od and loan in NW and I just sent my letters for both in one envelope into my branch.

Hi Everyone,
Hope you're all well and feeling slightly better than the weather! well tomorrow is my court date with HFC who are applying for a CCJ.
Now... the CCJ I don't dispute, however what I have disputed is the collection charges that they applied which was well in excess of the true cost - so wish me luck.
I'm not sure what to expect really but I'll wait and see what happens.0 -

Hi Carlos
As I understand it, to be able to enforce a debt the company must provide you with a copy of your signed CCA. If you applied online then it is highly likely that you never signed one and therefore they won't be able to produce it. However, I understand that the CCA 1974 was amended in 2006 to account for agreements "signed" online, so if you opened an account in this way after 2006 you couldn't use the "unsigned" CA argument - I think !
As I say, I'm only going to use this tack if the creditors don't accept DMP and want to play dirty. I have heard (read on here) that MBNA are really bad at being able to produce CCA's so I could have a stab at them, but they have accepted our DMP without a murmour, so there is no point other than trying to evade paying a debt that I am after all responsible for, which isn't really why I started a DMP. If I wanted to do that I'd just sell up and go on a looonngg holiday :rotfl: I will leave well alone as I am quite willing to repay the debts, but I see it as a tool to beat the less cooperative lenders with!0
