Hi ray day and cloud nine.

Well today me and the husband sat down and worked out that what we are paying churchwood and what they pay to our creditiors they take about £110 per month now that we didnt know!!! They had said that we owe £70,000 but when i worked out what we owe today from our monthly cc statements loan statements etc its only about £45,000!!!.
So am getting right on the phone tomorrow not really sure how i go abouts changing over from churchwood to cccs any one have any ideas. That £110 per month will pay off so much over the year .

    HI Lisa

Normally you can cancel at any time they may give you some rubbish about creditors not liking it but some people have experienced it where creditors have recommended them away from fee paying companies to CCCS or Payplan as they actually end up getting more money.

Give them a ring and ask them how much notice you need and can they send you the paperwork for the accounts (unless you have account numbers) you can manually send payments to the companies in the meantime between leaving Churchill and going with another company.

    Hi everyone,

I am on a DMP and have been for two months now. I have about 5 years to go though. I am a longtime lurker on these forums but I need to be more active in facing my debts and problems.

Please add me to the list of Mutual Support and I promise I will add more details of my DMP.

A big welcome - you are officially added to the list! Number 167 :T

Tinkerbell - I think the only way you are going to know is to ask - the remortgage market at the moment is very chaotic I got a remortgage with Chelsea BS on a rate of 6.34% for two years think it will go up to about 7.23% after that period but if we stay with them and are not late paying in two years they will take us on as "normal" customer.

I was with sub prime mortage before and that rate was 9.9% so there can be a big interest rate difference. You will have to weigh the costs up remembering of course you now have to pay for house packs when you sell your house etc.

Do the figures get quotes and see if its worth it - it could turn out that you are better keeping your current house espeicially if you like it, then again you could save money who knows till you start testing the waters!

hi everyone hope your not all worrying too much. Had two lovely letters from Yorkshire bank today both identical both sent separate envelopes!!! They are informing me my/our OD (was an agreed £1,000) is £1,138.16 so, charges of £138ish have been applied. But...... it goes on to say a charge of £25 will also be added AND if not brought in line with agreed OD limit there will be £25 PER DAY
I rang CCCS the lady there was stunned at the amount i read the letter to her and they are going to write to them and advised me to give them a ring too, which I did. YB said haven't received anything from CCCS nor have they received my letters informing them of my dmp. Conveniently!!!! Probably on someone’s desk. And told me to inform CCCS that they (cccs) can't have sent anything!!! When I told YB THEY HAD and they will be writing to them re the £25 daily charges they changed their tune and YB are going to wait until they hear from CCCS.by the way we will be paying £20 per month for the OD so no way it would ever be paid if they increase the debt by £25 per dayI am quite a strong person and thought i would share todays events so that if anyone else gets ridiculous letters to call CCCS/PAYPLAN or even the person who sent the letter its not worth getting ill over --they cant take what you aint gotThe thing that annoys me so much is that we have been with YB for over 30 years had loans credit cards with them and never been in arrears first time we asked for help was told in no uncertain terms NOPE. Hence DMP with CCCSOne question i would like to ask is :-Whilst on a DMP with CCCS can you claim cc/bank charges back?

I think it is always more complicated when you include overdrafts in your DMP I found it was anyway with Lloyds.

But I did end up writing a letter of formal complaint and getting the interest refunded.

You are totally right gonna be if you stand up to companies and instead of worrying get a bit of fight there you can beat them at their own game. Sometimes it can take time and feel really pointless but when you get a result it makes it so worthwhile!

I have had a strange day with Lloyds TSB today but quite pleasent .

I have an overdraft with them which is £1000 i had £20 avaliable to use but i thought when i changed bank accounts i will leave that in as every month i have the overdraft usage charge plus i have a select account so thats around £7.00 per month altogether about £15 a month comes out of my account. I knew i would not be paying any thing in this account so i left the £20 in to cover this months charges until my DMP starts.Lloyds took the £20 and payed towards my loan (my usual payment for loan is £300 )

Today i get a letter saying i am £10 over my overdraft (i would not have been if they would nt have took it ) The letter says i will not be charged they have increased my overdraft to avoid charges but i need to put £10 in my account in the next 7 days if i cant i need to phone them ASAP .I rang them and they lady was really pleasent she said i had no need to pay anything in as my DMP is starting this month ,she even thanked me for my £1.00 token payment .I hope things stay this way with them.

I had to go into branch to cancel the £7.00 select i pay on my account the lady said LLOYDS credit cards are changing you get points now when you spend she tried to swap mine over i explained i wont be doing any spending any more so no need to do mine .I had to be really sharp with her and spell out to her I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER CREDIT CARD .They are still trying to get me into debt they are unbelievable .

    Hi everybody,

Just a quick update as I joined a few weeks ago but I have been quiet since (on here at least). Have just done all my letters to creditors as per CCCS with token payments, seemed to take ages. I'm off to the post office in the morning to get them all sent recorded delivery. I will feel really relieved once they are sent off, my first payment to CCCS is due on 1st May, I can't wait.

I know I probably seem bad not to be worried but it is such a relief to be doing something positive to sort things out. Am thinking if any get difficult I will just cross that bridge when I come to it. Thanks for all the posts, I always read even when I don't post, and they help loads.

Hi Tara. that is exactly the right attitude to take. If you look back on the times you have had worrying about money perhaps you should look on how you feel now as a time for respite. Don't beat yourself up about it, listening to the news yesterday it seems that a lot of people are borrowing just for day to day living. That's something in my past which won't be happening again. Take care, and well done!
