I'm so in the mood to CCA Halifax, they've started phoning and dropping calls (1471 shows its them ) so I think they might start phoning again soon. Plus we've got about £400 worth of charges if the debt is legit. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Try not to worry you are actively doing something to sort this out now - I will allow you a few nerves but not worry!
Oh and nerves are only allowed for a small portion of a day
As Looby has quite rightly said most people tick along nicely once its set up - thats why you mainly here from people just setting up in here as its the time when you have the most questions and concerns.0 -
Hi everyone I have spoken to payplan today and my first payment goes out on 1st of May, it feels great to be dealing with this. Have spoken to hsbc and monument so far who have been quite pleasant, not sure they will be when they see how much they will be getting per month! but will have to see.0

Well done! I love it when people come back in with posts like that after all the anxious bits leading up to the decision.0

Precisely
10 months into the DMP and my only worry is whether I've spent my haircut money on food this month
No court cases for me at all - just a couple of default notices.
Although next worry will be whether my car will pass the MOT - but that worry would be there no matter how much cash I hadworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Only way to get rid of MOT worries is company cars - one of the best things materially that has happened to us. I think it was around this time of year we would have been due and even though we saved up for it the bloomin thing always cost us more!0

Hi,
I had an April Fool day present from NW they kindly sent me a default notice re my CC with them. I knew this would happen didn't just expect it just yet. Please tell me what I should do now? I tried to have a look at the National Debtline website but couldn't find anything. I have ordered the printed pack thou but in the meanwhile any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

You don't do anything with a default notice.
It is just a notice to inform you that you have broken the terms of the credit application you made, ie, you haven't paid! There is no set rule when you get one some companies do it early some never do it.
The early you get them the better as they go on your credit history and stay there for 6 years so the earlier in your DMP you get them the quicker they fall off your history.
Some companies once they have issued a default notice may go on to accept lower payments or may pass it on to a debt collection agency who are more likely to accept lower payments.
So its just routine and don't worry about it!0 -
The default notice I got from Mint said I needed to contact them within X days to offer payments.
So I wrote back saying that they already knew I was on a DMP and that my payment offer is the currently payments they are receiving via CCCS on the DMP.
Never heard another thing. But the default notice did mean that they stopped interest and charges on the accountworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
