Thanks rayday - you're a star! I'm a bit concerned about it, as I was really hoping that I'd have no defaults showing on my record in 6 years time or so, as it would help me to get a mortgage (and I'd love to think my car will last out for 20 years, but I think I might need car financing before then!!). What a kerfuffle!!Member #4 of the DMP Mutual Support Club - DFW Nerd #335

I have looked around the old interweb - even read the consumer credit acts of 1974 and ammendments in 2006 and they are chocolate fireguards as far as helping us today lol
I did find on other boards that a company can only issue a default notice once.
So what you need to establish is, is that D just showing each month that the default notice has been served or are you getting more than one default notice. It is only a default notice if you actually get the paperwork. You could ask the credit agency whos report you are checking what date the default notice is which would clear it up for you.
So many apologies I failed to find an "official" line but other mere mortals do say the same only one per account because once you have defaulted and not brought the account into order again you have commited the "offence" and as we know you cannot be tried for the same offence twice!
This is obviously not a criminal offence just how it is worded in the "acts"0 -
Ha ha, thanks rayday, I think a phonecall to Equifax may be called for. I'll add it to the bottom of my humungous to-do-list and report back on my findings

I had new windscreen, and 3 new tyres on my car and it failed it's MOT and was scrapped 4 months later
Little did I know Dad took the good tyres off before it went for scrap - he told me about 5 months after that when I got a replacement car (that needed new tyres ) so he got em swapped.

Ha ha, that made me laugh newlywed. I remember a while ago you were having car problems when I was having to get a new headlamp (and tyre!) because of a pheasant - what are we like?!
Hope you are well pumpkin xMember #4 of the DMP Mutual Support Club - DFW Nerd #335

Cars and services scare me, mine has such a good service history it'd be a waste to skip the next one (72k miles), it's so close to that but I need it to wait until the end of April when I finally get some money! No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Hi all,
Myself and hubby have had a discussion tonight about possibly downsizing to help sort out our debt problem quicker. As you may be aware have just started our DMP but feel we could be more even more proactive especially as we want to relocate to this village eventually anyway.
Does anyone know what the deal would be with the mortgage - we are with Nationwide. Our interest rate is around 4.5% for another 2 years fixed and obviously we would be paying a whole lot more if we have to start a new mortgage at about 6%.
We are going to ring them tomorrow - we have our joint acc with them but they are not a creditor - should we mention the DMP as I am not sure if they would still credit check us for a smaller mortgage??
Questions questions!! Any answers??
Thanks.... Jan 2008-Paid 74% of debt as of MAR 2012 (DFD - APR 2014) DMP Support Thread Member 154  DFW Long Hauler 116:grin: Official DFW Nerd Club 928- Proud to be dealing with my debts :grin:0 -
Hi everyone,
I am on a DMP and have been for two months now. I have about 5 years to go though. I am a longtime lurker on these forums but I need to be more active in facing my debts and problems.
Please add me to the list of Mutual Support and I promise I will add more details of my DMP.
