  • Hello to all the lovely folk on here.I am really touched at all the birthday wishes.
Nelski,I hope you enjoy you barrel of vino, and raise a glass for me as I sadly have to forgo my beloved G&T until about mid-May,so have a couple for me instead.
I have had so far umpteen phone calls this morning including one just now from my big brother in France .He is in the process of building his second house down there, and left the electrician's to go back to his first house to ring me up.He says he was a little nervous about leaving them there, as they will skimp on what he wants done unless he is there to watch them all the time.
Well the chemo went O.K. but they still had a problem with my veins, so I will be in the hospital for day-surgery next Wednesday to have a Groshon line fitted into my chest. It will make it a lot easier for having the stuff put in in future, but I was hoping that I would not have to have it done as it's another round of hospitals again.
My eldest DD and family are off to New York for their annual shoppingfest next Saturday for a week, and she is stressing dreadfully at the moment .She has just started her 1st year of a business degree that she has to fit around her husband, two children and full time jo, and in her eyes me. I said to her not to keep worrying, but it's like talking to the wind .She seems to thrive on problems at times She will only be gone for a week and I have my youngest DD who only lives five minutes away plus my sis-in-law who will come down to stay for the week so I assured her I will be fine .I think she's turning into my Mum at times she fusses such a lot, bless her she does mean well though. I am a very lucky lady to have my two smashing daughters, they really are the greatest. We are looking forward to a nice girls only week-end when this treatment is over, and I shall spoil them rotten then.
Well I have the youngest coming round this morning and after that I haven't a clue as to what I am doing as she said don't plan anything today !!
They both got very secretive when I tried to winkle out of them what was happening
On Pancake day my youngest DGS said as soon as I walked into their house 'Nanny you mustn't go upstairs' and he was giggling fit to burst. He's a lovely little boy of three and a half and the image of my late husband .He's alwas smiling, and he really does cheer me up at times .My youngest DD says there is a big dent on top of my head where Mikey's thumb rests .
well chums it's time I made a move ,thanks again for all your good wishes and <<<Hugs to anyone feeling blue today>>
Cheers JackieO in a sunny Kent

    :hello:
    Morning!

    Happy Birthday Jackie-O :bdaycake:

    (((hugs)))) Hillstep

Hester - my dd has just been diagnosed with the most severe form of migraines you can get and has hardly missed any days at work! Just drs appointments and a couple of hours here and there, she is listening to what her doctor tells her though! not sure how your collegue can justify 2 weeks at a time!
Can you tell how proud I am of dd?:o

Shez - I can't wait for Ashes to ashes tonight, Phil Glenister is wonderful in the part but is he competition for Mr Darcey?

Today is a work day for me so the slow cooker will be on soon, I am going to try making a lentil dhal, I think I have Queenies recipe printed out around here somewhere. Also need to make a wm loaf for OH today.

I have managed to crochet an edge around the knitted dolly blanket but it is a bit curly so I'm guessing the tension is wrong!:rotfl: Oh well I am sure the dolls won't mind.

Having read the lent thread I am trying to reduce the use of plastic in our household, I can just about remember the kitchens of my nana and my Mum before "tupperware" kicked in and have to say it would be very difficult to forgo the convenience of ziplocs and lightweight mixing bowls!

    Must go walk that puppy!

    Take care and (((hugs)))

  • I had to go away for a few days and left my dh a list of shopping to get but he lost and instead of phoning me and asking me again what he needed, he shopped in ICELAND.
Now my freezer is full of crap and we will be eating crap for the next week or 2 at least. I could easily kill him now, his excuse was it's ok I only spent thirty pounds.
I would like to be able to admire a man’s opinions as I would his dog - without being expected to take it home with me."

Pen-Pen - you are lucky with the bone crocheting hooks, I have one which was my Grandma's and find it the easiest to crochet with as it seems to slide easier.
