Hindsight is a wonderful thing, the fact is they have scammed hundreds of people and need stopping, i have now spoken to someone from the company and informed them that i am taking legal action against them, i have been promised a refund this week, i will let you know if it happens.

I have recieved a crude photocopied reply that is not signed saying they will not refund me as they are 'actively marketing' my vehicle. I would beg to differ as no phone calls in over a month tells a different story. I now intend to sue them for falsely selling me their services, basically they sold me the deal on the guarantee that they had definite buyers, if they had said do you want to advertise your car for £99.99?, i would have course said no.
So this is the basis formy claim which i am going to d through the MCOL. Anyone interested in doing the same let me know on here, the more the merrier.
• Hi Hammond

Yes I would be interested in claiming my money back too. Will it cost alot of money? Or is it that you just need as many complaints as poss. My private email is sbhikoo@tiscali.co.uk if you want to email directly.
• Hi Hammond
I would be interested in claiming too.
They got £129.99 out of me. I have sent a letter to them for a refund but heard nothing back and now there is no answer on either phone numbers. My credit card company are looking into them and I have also wrtitten to watchdog so hopefully they will be stopped.
• One year on from when they tried it out on me, and they're still going strong!

Read these previous threads for more info. They try to stay on the right side of the law if you read the small print on the website in the section marked "terms of use", especially the bits highlighted.

Advertisements run for 28 days. If you ask us, we will repeat the advertisement, free of charge, for further 28 day periods until the vehicle is sold. (so the ad will disappear after 28 days if it ever goes on in the first place)

Our services to you will start as soon as your vehicle is registered with us, therefore you will have no right to cancel your advertisement and the normal 7 day cooling off period will not apply. (trying to cover their backs)

We are not responsible for: - The condition of any vehicle advertised; an advertisement not getting a response; a buyer’s or seller’s lack of good faith; any guide book valuation given; any foreseeable loss; or services suspended or interrupted as a result of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

The number of buyer enquiries registered with us is given solely as a guide for you to assess current market demand. They reflect vehicles of all types and all price ranges currently wanted by buyers registered on our system.

Nothing in these terms and conditions affects your rights as a customer. Any change must be confirmed in writing by one of our authorised officers. Vehicle World Ltd reserve the right from time to time to change and / or alter these terms and conditions without notification to the customer.

"Definition of a match". A match is a prospective buyer who has expressed an interest in purchasing a vehicle of similar or exact type.

• Ok , that is a good start, thanks for the reply's, basically what i am going to do this weekend is go through the MCOL ( money claims online) with a mate of mine who is a solicitor. He has told me that i can sue them on this site, and that it is quick. I will have a chat and see if a number of people can do it at the same time, it costs £30 to do the claim, VWS will have to pay costs if found guilty ( which they blatantly are). I will pick this up again on monday. Once again thanks.

hi

i too have been conned by this company, and just today I have received a response to my letter of complaint basically saying that i cant get a refund as they are still actively marketing my vehicle - it sounds identical to the one you received!!

definitely interested in taking further action. my email is fernandojordio@hotmail.com - please get in touch and lets take these people down!

thanks
steve
• Can everybody try to contact watchdog again, if we can get enough people complaining then they will look into it, this is the best way to proceed at the moment. The problem with sueing is that the costs will escalate as the case progresses and if you dont win then yo are even further out of pocket, we will bring this company down, but we need a bit of momentum and backing to do so. Keep your chins up, i do not intend to let this drop.

I have submitted my story on the BBC Watchdog program, using the following link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/consumer/tv_and_radio/watchdog/contact_index.shtml
I also urge people to submit their story, lets put an end to VWS and this whole Scam.

Also, STAY ALERT!!! I've received 2 emails, one from a guy claiming to be in Dublin, and one claiming to be in China, who both want to send me a Bankers Draft for full price if i give them my home address, their Agent will then collect the car! (or steal it) I assume they all ready have my bank details? I forwarded both emails to AutoTrader who advised they are probably scams.
