Hi
I have sent them a strong letter more than a fortnight ago, stating it was copied also to my solicitor. They have confirmed that they received that letter.
I will write another today and send that too.
Things have gotten slightly worse now in that the number which was ringing out this morning is now just giving an error tone and disconnecting me.
We have friends that stay in liverpool, could we use their address to go down the MCOL route?
Thanks
Keep writing the letters and also send them to the 2 directors, addresses are a couple of pages back. Make sure the letters are registered post, point out you have been mislead by the salesperson therefore they have broken the law.0 -
My Hubbie got caught out by VWS, I was just googling them & came across ALL these threads (glad he'd not the only one who got caught out! I thought he was just being v gullible, but he says they were v convincing)
By the way has anyone looked up the postcode on Royalmail.com - there are 3 pages of different companies at 707 High Road, Finchley!!! Its either a VERY big building, or they are operating loads of other scams too!

Well my mum got a call from these people about a year ago when she was selling her Citroen. My mums quite hard to get one past to be honest. She realised the idea sounded a bit odd to her and asked em to speak to them on the phone next time they called.
Whilst on the phone with the very helpful lady at VWS (cause she thought she was getting our money) I went on www.blagger.com
I noticed VWS was very badly reviewed and everyone was saying it was a scam. I said this to the lady and I could almost hear her jaw hit the floor. She very quickly hung up!This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0 -
When I advertised my car on the internet I got a call from a similar company. I would NEVER buy anything from anyone who comes to the door or calls me on the phone because there is always some catch.
Whilst they chatted to me on the phone I looked the company up on the internet and found a myriad of complaints and told them I was not interested. That is when they got abusive!!
When they rang again I simply told them the car had been sold. I had to say the same things to a few similar companies and umpteen Nigerian 419 Advance Fee fraudsters! I even played along with one Nigerian fraudster and he even sent me a cheque in the post!
The cheque also covered the 'shipping fee' to pay the shipping agent who was going to collect the car. He then claimed his son was seriously injured in an accident and asked me to send the 'shipping fee' direct to the doctor treating his son (by Western Union). He said he would pay the shipping agent direct later. I had already determined the cheque was a fake - I simply called the company whose name was on the cheque and they told me!
When he rang later he asked if I had sent the money by Western Union. I told hom that I had done even better than that! I said I had cancelled the cheque payment so that he would have even nore money available for his son and that I was realsing him from the contract to buy the car. He then cried 'no, no, no' and hung up the phone. Strange, I wonder why I never heard from him again?0 -
Hi gdonald20, thanks for your update. I havn't had an opportunity to reply before now but to answer your Q - no I have not to this day received a cheque back from the VWS cretins! Almost 1 month ago since they conned me but I knew it would be a miracle if a cheque landed through my door. My credit card company are onto this for me & they've told me I won't have to pay VWS as they took the fee by deception & have broken the law. Luckily I got on to my credit card company right away to block any payment being taken.
Funny enough, I havn't had any follow up calls from VWS after I told them they were no more genuine than the man in the moon!0 -
Hi again
You are lucky i contacted my credit card issuer the day after the problem occured and they told me there was nothing that could be done about it as it was one pence under the £100 protection amount.
I contacted my local trading standards who have been pursing this for me but sadly they told me this week that VWS have ceased trading so they doubt i will ever get anything back from it.
Thanks

It looks like they have finally folded, one of the directors has left and they have no credit rating. They also have a CCJ from a court in northampton for £124.00, good work to all on here who harassed them, sorry for anybody who is still out of pocket, a big boo to trading standards who have been pathetic.
Unfortunately it wont be long before the morons who were behind the company will be trying to scam people with a different venture :mad:0 -

They have a credit rating of 1 at the moment on the site i use, which basically means they have had it. It is only a matter of time before they cease trading.0
