Thanks, both. :) I guess I can cook it first and see what happens. It's cheap enough stuff if it turns out to be a disaster!

As it is for the dog, of course you can refreeze it, may affect texture, but as dogs lick their bums and other bits, and eat their own vomit, cow poo etc, do they care, will they notice?

    I doubt it

I'd go with Farway, if the liver's for the dog freeze it anyway.

If you've cooked it, then it will freeze fine too :)
  • I made a cheese sauce but made to much, can i pop the excess in the freezer or is it ok kept in the fridge for a few days till i make a lasagne?

I added double cream mixed with water instead of milk as it needed using up in case that makes a difference.

i freeze it regularly, looks a bit weird when first defrosted but a good stir and a bit of extra milk whilst heating sorts it out

Yes. I freeze it in batches to give to my daughter and it tastes fine when defrosted.

what is a general rule of thumb for what is ok to freeze and what isn't.

I usually make a mince base of stuff and freeze that and then add potatoes/pasta but our house is almost student-esque with kitchen behaviour and a lot of my stuff gets eaten when i have menu-planned with it.
So I am freezing as much as possible as the only other stuf ever in the freezer is usually a quiche.

I know I can grate my cheese and freeze that and chop my peppers and freeze them...

also, my tupperware tubs have gone missing (argh) only 3 left with 2 lids out of over ten is it ok to freeze my chilli etc in a sandwich bag?

    grrr to housemates
